>>2863238arma CWAR counts?
>grab AT kit>vehicles never close enough or in my AO>don't grab AT kit>AT guy in woods by himself and theres 3 vics
>>2869216We were ДPГ larping, ambushing Russhit vehicles near their MOB with RPGs, and we must have sat in the bushes by the road for like 20 minutes without seeing a single vehicle. Finally got sick of it and just as we walked away, two or three armored cars drove by.
Is this the thread?
>>2876813Welcome back, /vg/.
>>2867394Ye, I don't see why not
Project Zomboid is pretty tactical with the right mods
Which real-time /&tg/ has thr best room clearing?
>>2878046I spent 2 years waiting for 42B stable or whatever the fuck it was, and lost all interest for the game in that time. Also, post your workshop modpack. I might get into it again.>>2879417Insurgency Sandstorm. It feels so good to clear a whole room of players and make your way through buildings, surviving despite all odds. Tarkov is decent too.
does arena breakout count? its...more of a tarkov-like/knock off, but it still has tactical gameplay mechanics
>>2883049I didn't like it personally, because for the first few raids you have to play against bots. That's how they try to hook you and get you to spend money on it. It also felt kinda cheap and plasticky compared to Tarkov, etc. But sure.
>>2884306>bots for the first few raidsi think thats every battle royal/exfil shooter, desu. fortnite, pubg, the gammot. theyve got a hook like that..i do think its somewhat less predatory than tarkov, though. not by a whole lot, but at least it isnt asking you to double or triple buy the game lmao. desu, id be playing tarkov if the devs werent such greedy assholes (the abi devs are also greedy, but at least paying is optional), and if the game ran okay of 32gb of ram
>tfw they could have added an online mode for Final Fantasy Tactics Remake and they didn't
>>2885937>i think thats every battle royal/exfil shooter, desu. fortnite, pubg, the gammot. theyve got a hook like that..Pretty much, yea. I hate that shit.>at least it isnt asking you to double or triple buy the game lmaoTarkov wasn't either at first. Give it another year or two and they will start pushing some sort of predatory monetization BS. Sure, they're greedy, but someone also has to pay for the servers.>>2886024It's ogre.
>>2886186>Sure, they're greedy, but someone also has to pay for the serversits a chinese game dev (tencent), so theyre pushing skins, and people are buying them constantly. but maybe, maybe not. >Tarkov wasn't either at firstno, but there was definitely some p2w shit going on. theyre not much better, if any at all>Pretty much, yea. I hate that shit.agreed.
>If John Marston had a bodycamAny BodyCam enjoyers? Playtest is fun
>>2892816
>>2892820https://streamable.com/gam22f
>>2893298
>>2892816>>2892820>>2893298>>2893868What's the playercount like
>>2894406not sure, i've never played bodycam before. they gave me access to the playtest for their new big update and i think they said they let about 1000 people into the playtest?i think the main game hovers around 5k on steamcharts
>>2895243Are there any game modes other than tdm?
>>2895302yeah there's a king of the hill, that's what I was playing in this >>2893298 (you can hear the hill ticker making a mario bingbong sound in the streamable)there's>FFA deathmatch>gungame where you get a new gun after every kill til you complete the circuit>TDM>1-life-per-round team elimination which is called "Versus" in the game>team KOTHthey have a pve zombies gamemode that wasn't in the playtest so I've never tried it but I think it's a Halloween thing they do in the main game. and they have a ranked 2v2 elimination mode called Wingman, but I didn't try iti think the gamemodes are the one of the biggest areas of improvement. game needs something more tactical. there needs to be more elimination-based gamemodes beyond just Versus because the instant-respawn modes were okay for a short stint but they get old quickly and don't really play to the game's strengths.Versus was the most fun I had but it was harder finding populated lobbies for it when you could instantly drop into TDM at any time
Broken Arrow DLC just launched. Are there still normal players for this game or is it all sweats with 1000 hours like wargame
>>2895243So my question is: will I be able to play it right away after buying or do I have to wait to be let into the playtest? It's not really clear.
>>2897555Also: does it support family sharing on steam?
>>2897555the game's out already, it's been out for a little while. the playtest is for a big update they're doing, I guess they're rehauling the gameplay in a big way. I don't have a frame of reference because I don't actually own the game, I just played the playtestif you buy the game right now you can play it right now, the update they're playtesting comes out tomorrow Sept 2nd so I'd just wait til tomorrow to buy it unless you really want to play it right now>>2898136that part i have no idea about
>>2898279We were playing reforger with a buddy yesterday. I'll check it out today I think.
>>2898279Welp. So I got the game and I think I already solved it after my first match, lmao. Picrel, me with 3+ k/d in PvP. Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but I see some major flaws with this game, and I'm not sure if it makes me want to keep playing it. Firstly, movement and aiming are insanely clunky. Much clunkier than they should be imo. I'm talking fucking Squad's ICO on steroids. Moving = death, basically. You have to sit your ass down and wait for morons to come to you. Secondly, there are some insanely dark areas on maps in this game. If you sit in one of those, you're basically invisible and near unkillable. Combine those two and this is just a camping simulator. I fucking quit Insurgency Sandstorm after figuring out that you can camp every single point and rack up an ungodly number of kills that way. It simply became boring to kill so many players. I believe fun PvP shooters should actively discourage camping and ratting, not promoting it with dubious map design and mechanics.
>>2903186Movement feels like you're playing as some 500 pound fat fucker. I shit you not. Humans don't move like this. Even with all that kit and guns and everything weighing you down you wouldn't be moving so slowly and awkwardly.
>>2903186>>2903190On a more positive note though: gunplay is really fun. Though I think it's also exaggerated quite a bit.
>>2903205Music also kinda slaps
>>2903186>>2903205the update's not out yet. they reworked all the animations and player movement and whatnot. update drops in an hour from now, try it out after that and see if they fixed anything you didn't like (or made it worse kek)
>>2903386Damn, I didn't realize. What's new in the next update besides the new animations and such? More maps and guns would be nice. Also, I think the game is growing on me little by little. Gunplay is actually surprisingly satisfying, if janky.
>>2903399They did 4 whole devlogs about it on youtubeNew huge map (ukraine trenches)Like 6 or 7 new gunsBetter optimizationNew really impressive magnification tech
>>2903556Drones too I think?
>>2903610drones and RC car
Been playing BodyCam these past couple of days, and it's fairly nice. It's games like this that make you realize just how little genuinely intense action there is in games like Tarkov or Arma.
>>2914359I really wanna get bodycam but a lot of the negative reviews make it sound like the player base is gonna die within a month, which is a shame because I had a blast during the playtest but the average player is really dogshit so I wouldn't be surprised if shitters get filtered. Oh another thing I saw is a lot of people want this game to turn into an extraction shooter or arma like game which I personally find retarded and I'm worried ill spend the money and watch it get turned into something I don't like because the devs caved in for popular demand.
>>2914414>it sound like the player base is gonna die within a monthThe game is quite literally 2 years old
>>2914431Yeah but were you actually playing during all that time? I heard it was hard to get full lobbies before this update. I can see that happening again if the devs take another year for an update. I'm not even hating I understand it's just two guys working on this but I feel like this game will have a video made on it five years from now named "WHY BODYCAMED FAILED" again it's really fun game but I'm sketched out that these devs are just scamming for short term cash and will go radio silent for another year before being force to make another update to attract new suckers.
>>2914455I don't have a horse in the race but from what I gathered - They're a rather large team now, like 20 people- This update took a long time because they basically had to rebuild the game for this big update and the next ones, as the first version was obviously quite amateurish, the hiatuses SHOULDNT be that large from now on
>>2914500Okay thanks for the info that puts my mind more at ease I'm getting the game, sorry if I sounded a little schizo I've just been burned by early access games so many times.
>>2914414Naw, I wouldn't really worry about that. There were 13k players when I hopped on yesterday and it's now almost 20k players. That's way more than Insurgency Sandstorm ever had, and people still play that game almost over a decade later. The devs just need to keep the updates rolling to keep the momentum up.
Sometimes matchmaking connects you to high ping chink hosts and shit like that, causing rubberbanding, but other than that it's okay.
Almost 40k players on bodycam now, shit's crazy. It totally exploded. I myself have been playing it non-stop for a few days now. Great game, but needs way more maps imo.
>>2919510It's quite impressive what cool devlogs can do marketing-wise
Don't update Ready or NotGay useless update that breaks your mods
>>2921265Haven't touched it in years at this point probably. What have they added over the past 2-3 years?
bodycam is fucking gay the only cool mode is the versus one life mode, and the most effective tactic is to just sit in a shadow since you are fucking invisible
>>2922284I assume you wouldn't have seen the new DLC. The fourth one is pretty cool.
>>2863238oh shit, we are alive?
>>2922740We are, in a manner of speaking
>>2922440It's great if you're good at shooters in general
>>2921265i hate ron so much>great game in theory>broken beyond belief in practice
ready or not sucks ass. worse than SWAT 4 that came out like 20 years ago
>>2929343The dogshit ass gunplay is what really turns me off the game. It's just so unsatisfying, rigid and all the guns feel samey. Otherwise, nice aesthetics, gear and whatnot.
photos taken seconds before disaster>>2929343in swats defense, the SEF mod and SEF: First responders really elevate that game so high. RoN is also another one of those games marketed "MADE BY DEVS OF <similiar thing that was popular 2 decades ago>!!!!" only for it to turn out to be, like, one dude that mightve, possibly ran coffee for the actual devs once.
>>2934160SEF is dogshit too. funny you praise it when the mod just tries to turn swat 4 into RoN lol. they don't even let you start with nonlethal weapons in that awful mod
>>2934180>tries to turn swat 4 into RoN loleven though it...came out way before RoN? lol>they don't even let you start with nonlethal weapons in that awful modjust straight up lying now. you get the same nonlethals in the beginning of SEF as you do in base game S4.
>>2934185no you don't. have you ever played the mod?
>>2934189yes, lol. thats how i know youre full of shit. you get the b melee, the pepper spray, tasers, and flashes. thats your nonlethal. thats the same fucking shit that you get in swat 4 at the start. go back to your ready or not slop if you want "muh pepperball gunz!!!"
Any cool and fun Arma Reforger servers you can recommend?
