Enemies just start dropping them after 20-30 levels and you have to pick them up off the ground in stacks of 2-3
What's funny is that by level 70 they're dropping in stacks of 10 potions that heals 2000MP each and you probably have less than 200 max MP.
Before enemies drop them all you can do is dump points into spirit to maximize the MP refill you get from leveling up.

Out of sheer curiosity, I put about two hours into EU-Tale just to see what was different. Not with the intention of switching, but moreso just to see the road not taken. (No screencaps of it, due to [Print Screen] apparently not being the screencap button, rip)).

- Looks nicer in general, due to what appears to be an overhaul of the rendering engine. Actual shadows, more modern-looking spell effects, etc.
- Progression is much more linear, with the bulk of your EXP coming from quests. There are many more sidequests as well to compensate (although with seemingly 1x rates, good luck leveling after they're done...).
- Everything is noticeably slower. Player attack speed and cooldowns in general, enemies don't chase you as far (and run quite sluggishly), etc.
- Monsters are much less densely packed, although they do still spawn nearly instantly.
- Major spawn locations for monster clusters are shown on the minimap.
- Gold is picked up in a small radius when clicked.
- You can instantly grab items off the floor even when your inventory is open.
- The loot filter is just an option in the settings, available at any time.
- Itemization is slightly more varied, with "of the [Name]" suffixes granting additional stats on drops, and a meta progression system called "Soul" very mildly similar to PoE's passives tree.
- Skills and Spells are learned in a different order (Priestess gains Divine Lightning at Level 14 rather than Level 30, for example).
- Single target attacks seem very strong here, so they aren't entirely a joke.
- Going over your carry capacity still allows you to pick up more items if you have the physical space, but forces you to walk rather than run, and prevents all attacks until you are no longer over-encumbered.

Would argue Wartale and EU-Tale are at least somewhat different experiences wrapped around the same core title. Can't speak on the pay2win for either, however. Easy to guess both aren't great there.

So, once you reach level 80, you'll get a quest that asks you to kill 3 vamps.
To complete it the easy way:

>take the ferry to Atlantis
>go to mystery forest 1 and kill mobs until the bronze vamp spawns (should be 1-2 mins top)

congrats you have 2x stats now!
also when you reach level 85, you'll get another quest in atlantis that'll ask you to find the prison key. completing this super quick quest will award you around 4 levels of xp

The shit you put up with in these games.

So honestly my impression is it's Maplestory without the charm. It's the same basic concept of farming infinite enemies to slowly level up, chugging potions the entire time, but potions are ridiculously cheap and you kind of just mash on them forever. Enemies spawn endlessly with no reprieve and it feels like it takes a concerted effort to actually leave combat. It's very much a game that wants you to just sit there holding one button forever.

We've played a few potion-spammer games and what's been common to almost all of them except Priston is something that forces you to actually disengage from combat for a second and gives you a natural moment to chat with your buds. In Priston it's very much the opposite. I feel like it's no wonder there's such rampant botting.

It's possible that the original game had more expensive potions, of course. These are private servers.

Believe this makes Priston Tale one of, if not THE oldest title we've played so far in this project, at least going by original release date.
Hell, this game might even be one of the very first fully 3D KMMOs on the market, period. Explains why there's still something of a community surrounding this title, being as long-lived as it clearly is. Also explains quite a bit about its general clunkiness overall, in knowing this is a 25-year-old Diablo-like.

Shaman kinda sucks ass @lvl 90, I wonder if I'm doing something wrong. Maybe it gets better with some skill I have yet to unlock, but so far the only good thing I have is an unkillable minion and some nice party buffs.
The AoE farming skills are either long cooldown or high mana cost and underwhelming damage.
I do get a realm skill which looks to scale nicely via multiattack, but I don't have 10 realm skill points to dump into that yet.

Both, the gap between late starters and early starters is huge, making party play a hassle, by game design and my progression shenanigans. The game also isn't that entertaining, it's a mob grinding without the candy of Diablo 2 and without the loot extravaganza of later titles like PoE, Grim Dawn or Borderlands.
There's like 5 to 6 anos logging daily, with 3 to 4 heads online all day. So Rusty levels. The grind is slowly down and the dungeons don't seem that enticing, so I fear that by the second week it will be a ghost town.
Dunno about EU, but at the least the locals there..play more? Wartale seems to be a bot town, lots of gold sellers too

So apparently those items you equip that have like, 0.5 MP regen, those are used in a bunch of crafting. You can turn them into buff items, you can add effects and buff your gear with them. You can also buy them for cheap from one of the NPCs in Phillai ("son of" something).

I've seen people powerelevelling by spamming a bunch of crystals and having them tank all the mobs, yet whenever I do the mobs ignore the summons and hit me instead

Yes it's called aging or mixing, age is +1, +2, +3 which incrementally improves the item but you need to kill mobs after each to fill the bar, mixing is a single buff to the stats at once

There's a good amount of locals, mostly high level dudes doing PvP (and some turbo pve farmers).
Some of them were friendly, for example on the first day I chatted a bit with a dude (and received 3 million gold as a thank you gift) after I "saved" him from 2 goblins that were harassing him while he was afking. But most of them are there just to grind and won't reply to questions.

The game isn't that good, and it's not a server issue (if we exclude anons that had technical difficulties to play - on linux - or register). I can't imagine a different server that could salvage this pile of shit.
Most of the gameplay so far has been: travel to a zone, activate your buffs that last 5 minutes, bathe in a giant mob pack, auto cast an aoe spell a few times to destroy everything, chug down 3 pots, cast again because mobs respawn instantly, chug down 3 pots, cast again, etc.
oh, and group instances start from level 113 and they require a 15-20 million gold ticket to enter.

All arpg I've played were a grind fest, but most modern ones try to give you a little variety
For example, in PoE you rotate maps, and every map has different modifiers and then events show up (current and past seasons events).

And don't get me started on crafting and gathering crafting materials. I've never seen a crafting system so rotten that pretty much forces you to either bot or to buy from bots.

Wouldn't be surprised to learn Priston was a popular pick installed in PC bangs/PC cafes around the SEA region during the early-to-mid 2000s, thus developing some degree of cultural cache amongst those who played it back then.
For much the same reasons Runescape (for example) has a strong foothold among the MMO-going population of NA/EU, so too do many random KMMOs from yesteryear hold the attention of regions which once had a strong PC bang culture during the MMO gold rush of the 2000s. Knight Online, first released in 2002, is still predominantly played in Turkey above all other countries, for example.

To us, this game is the highly clunky and incredibly dated Diablo clone that it is, even with all of the quality-of-life heaped onto it by both servers. But to those who grew up with it as a child/teenager, and connected with the game at an impressionable age, it's easier for them to look past those blatantly glaring flaws.
Pretty sure everyone who played MMOs as a kid has that one ancient pick which clearly shows its age in highly unflattering ways, yet nostalgia blinds them to at least some of its shortcomings. ROSE largely fits that description for me, so I'll try to be impartial towards it whenever that one finally ends up breaking its 2+ year losing streak.

Yeah I don't think its a disaster either. I've seen some people in the main thread compare it to Icarus and I'm like nah, its no where near the quality of Icarus and LaTale. It's just middle of the road blur together. It's decent, but I'll forget about it in a few months and if I ever do another tiermaker ranking, it's lumped in with all the other generic anime MMOs that are exactly like it.

In this current string of asian MMOs, the one that stood out to be the most in terms of memorability is Rusty, then Aion, then this.

It's definitely not Icarus-tier. The grind is fine. It just doesn't offer anything beyond the grind. Normally grindathons are basically excuses to socialize. It's like how going to lunch early at work feels really good. You know there's a grind you're supposed to be doing, but it's way more fun to just do something else. So you go socialize with your friends or explore or play minigames or whatever.

Priston is just a game where it's really hard to ever "leave work" to socialize, like your boss is constantly hovering over you. It's not that the job is bad, it's just missing the point.

The command "yahoo" is supposed to be an emote but it does nothing, I couldn't find any other emote animations either. You may also need to remove your weapons during the pics as they often cast a glow, good luck with getting anons bunched together.

We tried to set up an FFA tournament yesterday with just the three of us, and it turned out even worse than I imagined.
