On good runs I can buy 6 gold skills, an inherit and Straight Descent + a few whites and double circled corners. I think either this or the other run where I double circled everything was a Fast Learner run and I didn't hit any greens or Medium Straightaways/Corners, and Up Tempo/Prepared to Pass were still pretty expensive.

Spurt by itself is too weak, so unless you have the gold version Encroaching Shadow, which only the privileged two have, then you're SOL for accels outside of nimble nav which should be good, but those two by themselves won't be enough. You combo into pump + MPB after those two hit. Then if you grandparented spechud in, you can get a nice corner velocity boost on that final corner

Corner velocity is good despite the other points you brought up. I do agree people are sleeping on all of those other velocity skills, but they have different conditions. To get one ability off on the corner to trigger it isn't that hard, there's more options than just inside scoop.

Using Moirai to plan my Open team.Stole some umas from public lobbies and put them into the simulator.Added a Fine/Scarlet/Shakur and played around with their stats and skills until their winrates were better than the copied umas.Then I go into career mode and build them.The stat lines are so easy to hit, I spend every turn from senior summer onwards just resting sometimes, so blue sparks don't matter.You need so few skills and there's some flexibility, so white sparks don't matter much.So you can go all in on pink sparks, so you don't need many runs to get the one hard-to-hit thing: distance S.The careers are max comfy and I spit on Your Grand Concert. Student C was right.I'll be interested to see if my sim correctly predicts my CM results.It's predicting Shakur will have the highest winrate (though I haven't built her yet), then Fine, then Scarlet, though I haven't tried testing them against a bunch of different room comps.
