I did it on Horizon and there's a separate layer of satisfaction in being ahead of the others.
Extra benefits and the ability to actually help friends that are behind instead of just doing it with them and making it painstakingly slow for them.

You could argue that they aren't passionate, but when I did it on Horizon back then I surely was. There's something exciting about trying to optimize your progression a bit when there's nothing anyone else can offer you that makes it easier since you're the only ones with the access to gear, spells, etc. that drop at your level for your level.

It's one of those things that heavily impacts early game but at the end of the day, you'll be chaining ITs for 200 exp per so nothing truly changes. I'd argue that there's no reason not to use WotG exp because of that so people skip the suffering but apparently that led to way too many people soloing on Horizon so maybe they want to avoid that.

Well I was going to be a Taru mage when I first made the character but then I decided to pivot because I wanted to be a DRG and I wasn't going to reroll another race after playing for so long and besides I like being a Taru and small races in MMOs in general.
