So I've been looping El/Maru/Oguri for just about a week until I was told just yesterday that I can't get Dirt sparks because I didn't have dirt A. I restarted by feeding the last Oguri on the loop to my dirt umas, looping Tarumae + Oguri/borrow and using that into Acute + Oguri/borrow and repeat. I got something half decent but I need to transfer these sparks back into my El/Maru/Oguri loop for the G1 affinities, but I still need Dirt sparks to get them all to A for the end product. I have the option of looping the Acute/Tarumae into another Dirt uma (Falco probably) until she gets some Dirt sparks with good whites, and use that directly into my turf loops... or I can just keep looping my dirt umas until I get a bunch of Dirt/Mile pinks (I didn't get a single dirt spark in 118 loops so far) so that I can just use 2 of the 3 dirt umas into my eventual parent of El and Oguri. I don't know exactly how the affinity is going to look either way, since I need to eventually do enough loops to get rid of Tarumae/Acute in the lineage because I will be using them as my aces, plus enough loops to get the correct G1 affinities. I don't really know what I'm doing and am worried that I wasted all this time heading to a dead end.

The point of pulling generic cards like Ramonu Wit is that it might not be ideal, but it does work for literally any running style which means that you can make a passable, if not perfect, uma outside your chosen style. As a pace main, my paces are going to be my strongest, but I can still make a good End, for example, it'll just not have some specialist niche card gold which is obviously annoying but rarely blocking you completely off from a style.As to picking a style, you pick your oshi's style and deal with it as best you can. I'm a simple man, I like Brian and while base Brian is versatile enough to run pace/late, Blaze is pace only, so I'm a pace main. My uma pulls then flow downhill from this decision, as I'm going to want to pull the meta paces to run alongside Brian, while I can skip strong runners of most other styles because I can make a decent cope one from my current stable/spooks/selectors. The age of parent pulls is pretty much over, all the best parents are largely much out at this point or at least can be borrowed since the other parent is one of the umas you've already got. Stego and Epipi are the most notable exceptions, but that's just Cyjews being particularly jewish.
