How does Winter Alfred's Hardy Bearing Def check work? I know it'd check his own Def vs. the foe's, but for his allies, does it still check for his Def, or does it check the ally's Def? I'm gonna guess the latter but I wanna be sure.

The same goes for, say, visual novels: Ever17 had a cult following long before it received an official translation and release in English-speaking countries. It's the mark of a hidden gem that people make it available and spread the word outside the Japanese-only ghetto even as the mainstream market stays oblivious. FE6 just ain't a hidden gem.
