I go to Santa Anita Park on Fridays (it's free on Fridays) if I happen to be in the area, but my local track hasn't hosted races for a few years because they can't find an operator (the last concession was voided because the winning bid had inside knowledge of the bidding process)

New player? I highly recommend that you spend all those carats on the Taiki card banner. If you get 4 copies (3LB) run some careers so you can reach 200 pulls and get a free 5th copy. If you don't get enough copies just make a new account and try again. You really, really want to start with a maxed out speed SSR.

Pull for Light Hello, get her to at least 2LB but 1LB is fine too. You can make it with any good SR cards, decks are usually 3 speed, 2 wit and light hello. You dont wanna borrow her, you'd rather borrow any good speed/wit card you're missing. Also dw about stamina, there are no long CMs this scenario with the exception of the Arima Kinen but that's a fake long. Speed training will give you the tokens you need to learn songs and get the other stats, so you focus on friendship and rainbow trainings.

Grand Concert is going to give better veterans than URA and UC, the speed stat cap is 1600, as for light hello, you can get by with a single SSR copy, what she gains at more LB is marginal, the two first LBs give you 5% training efficiency each, while Tachyeon should be MLB.

Hi, /vmg/ club owner here, Grand Live is getting close so I hope everyone has their carats ready for Light Hello (remember you dont have to MLB her, 1lb is fine enough, but ideally you'd want at least 2lb). Hope everyone's been having fun now that TB is dead. Also hope you got lucky and got Rickey or Xoguri cause if not next cm will be hell. In any case keep at it trainers and have fun!

No, actually. Good timing. The game is split into "scenarios", which all have their own unique mechanics and backstory to why you're doing things. They're all meant to be equally as viable with no cards, so you can play whichever you feel like, though URA Finale(the first one) is generally considered the easiest and a great way to ease yourself into the game. The new scenario is coming out soon. Also, a card for Agnes Tachyon with the Speed specialty is coming out soon, and this card is very good.

The game wants you to reach for your wallet. Resist the urge!
The game's meat and potatoes is definitely the uma stories, which was a huge part of the reason why the Trackblazer scenario(often referred to as Make a New Track/MANT) failed miserably, as it basically disabled the uma's stories.

There are 4 race styles in the game. Every card is dedicated to at least one of them, and usually just one. You should focus on pulling for cards suited to your preferred race styles.
Cards are definitely of significantly higher priority than trainees. Trainees are fun on their own, but cards are how you actually make them good, and you will end up struggling against the waters if you .
Don't use your starter selector on Teio on advice of others. It's just a common in-joke. Oguri Cap is a very good trainee to get if you care about the PVP side of things.
You should go through the main story cutscenes. You can skip them if you want, but the reward for the 4th chapter is a Narita Brian card with speed specialty, which is pretty good.
Beyond this, you kind of have to just ask when you're playing, or in the aftermath. Might be better to ask for tips mid-run on /vm/ or /vg/ but if you're not really in a rush, this place will work fine. /vm/ is extra friendly and if you record your run, I'm sure someone will watch it and give feedback.

I've been having fun! Haven't been able to computer post in a week though... When I finally get the "new user" block lifted, I'll post my careers. I've accumulated quite a few.

Here's the basic gameplay:
You pick your trainee. You pick your two legacy umas, either two from yourself, or one from yourself and one from someone you follow. You pick 5 of your own cards, and one from a stranger/someone you follow.
From there, you have your options of Training, Rest, Recreation, Infirmary, and Race. Training allows you to train one of six stats, consuming energy in the process(except the wit stat, which regains a little energy.) Rest regains energy. Recreation improves your mood. The Infirmary is only available if you have a negative condition, and has a chance to cure it. Racing is complicated and you should ignore it for now(except in Trackblazer,) but it let's you participate in races not a part of your trainee's required set of races, usually to the benefit of extra stats if you win. Be warned that it consumes energy, and doing consecutive races has penalties.
Each action consumes a turn. There are 82 turns each run. At the end of a turn(and the start,) you get little events that either have to do with your trainee, cards, or scenarios. These can just be story-related, penalize you at random, or give you bonuses(and this is not a strict trinary.)

Training is fairly straight forward. Scenarios alter this the most, but the general gist is that you press a button and your uma trains. If it succeeds, you gain stats. If it fails, you lose them, and may get an additional hit too, like Practice Poor, which is a condition that enforces a minimal failure chance above 0%, and a mood down. Don't be afraid to gamble, but also try your best to avoid failure. Your main strategy will revolve around balancing rest and wit training to maximize effective training, and doing training with your cards. You primarily build friendship with your cards by training alongside them. At any point, they may try to give you a skill hint associated with a card(signified with the red ( ! ) that shows up.) If your friendship with a given card is at orange, and they fall upon a stat they specialize in, you get friendship training, which gives you extra points for training with them.
Races are the most hands off part of the game. You cannot give any input to races, beyond scheduling them. If you win though, you get fans, skill points, stats, and sometimes skill hints. Tragically this is solely a horse girl training simulator... and you can't even train aptitudes to overcome their turf-long disadvantage for the Arima Kinen.
Skills are important. Though most of the game is based around stats, skills add an extra edge to your trainee. You should generally save buying them until race-day. Wit is the final determination if they proc, so you'll want to train wit a lot. Also, wit does give the most skill points normally, though friendship training and scenario gimmicks can change this balance.

Legacy umas boost aptitudes, stats, and give skill hints. You're going to mainly be looking at aptitude upgrades and skill hints, as the bonus stats, while nice, probably won't help you unless you have a pre-planned run already assembled. Aptitude upgrades take 3 "sparks" to upgrade once, and 5 for any additional upgrade afterwards. An uma can have up to 3, and you can have a combined total of 9 in a lineage. You are given a legacy uma after your run ends. No, there's not really a way to tell it not to give you a Long legacy if you've trained a Sprint trainee. Yes, it's terribly annoying there's no real way to influence it.
And yeah... I think that's everything you'd need to know on the basic level. There's shit I haven't scratched yet, like the other card bonuses, but that covers everything you need for your first 50 runs in my opinion.

One last tip: Go into the settings, and at the top of the career menu, turn OFF "Skip First-Time Events". Trust me, you are going to want that. I have no idea why that's even on by default.

That sucks, sorry mate. There's still some free rolls left to get lucky with, if you still have enough to double spark. I got real lucky - went up to 300 by the second day and MLB'd Tachyon and 3LB'd Light Hello with the second free roll.

This scenario doesn't give you time to hit stamina, though. Creek's a perma-borrow for me as Serenity doesn't feel consistent enough and my stam parents kinda blow...

I saved the fuck up for this so, even if nothing but sparks, I can walk away with 2LB Tachyon and 0LB Light Hello... But yeah, I'm just going to sit and consume freebies for a bit.
As for stamina-I always am at like 500 stamina no matter the scenario. That hasn't changed yet.

Farm parents in unity with independent training, have managed to get really good parents there, use a 2 speed, 2 wit, riko and a freebie, you can also use 4 speed 1 power and riko. Change training focus to stamina, optionally add some extra races, it's mostly for extra sp but without extra races you can reach 2k sp no issue.
