His EX sigil is still very good and will serve you well throughout the game including in the water tower. Beernox is a great support but you can farm his shards in hard mode later on, plus you can just rely on Dallawan as a support character who's a great XL unit. Kantos is a great healer especially for escape room and I'd definitely recommend building him up still, but when it comes to raw heals and defense, Meng is great
