That's how it was in Kancolle. I missed an event once because I was so fucking tired of how annoying they've become plus RL issues. I've stopped playing ever since. At least that one you can still get a lot of the stuff you've missed, though probably not the important ones, but the grind for it is tedious. Getting botes from events after the one they appear in is hell.
Personally though, I used to just auto everything barring the unit Growth lives. Nowadays I manual play everything, it's helping my brain feel more alive.
Though I'll also note I've stopped spending energy 1 by 1, even if I have the event cards, that shit is too tedious even on auto. I just go by batches of 5 now.
Partly because my drink income is higher than my expenses, and also I got lucky during the 5th anni event and was spamming cans during the exp bonus they have which was bugged and not working, so I got 600 cans out of the compensation.

Peaky's ending was unambiguously positive (which makes sense because their original road to d4fes ended on the "we're gonna break up one day but that's OK" note so they already paid their dues).
Hapiara's also ended on a positive note with no cliffhanger and Miyu was all better by the end of Ri4. Only M4 and PhoMai have had real genuine "what the hell is gonna happen next!?" energy.
Also; bonus points to the PM song for being an instrumental and a damn good one at that. Nice gameplay/story integration, which is something D4 is usually sorely missing (last time I can think of something this on-point is when you had to play the "difficulty 999" version of I AM THE BEST back in Side Nova).

I wonder if I should roll on the AM fantastic gacha on EN. Partly because it seems kinda dumb to roll it that late into the event, but they have good cards in it that if I get the Elsie combo boost, I like Elsie anyway, it would allow me to build out a full blue team.
If I'm going to roll, it'll be on the paid gacha up to 5 times for the gauge, so 16500 paid diamonds I think. It's not bad per se, and it's not like there is any Unichord gacha on the horizon.

My opinion is that things are happening.

The story is progressing again and the events all feel like they leading to more change in the near future. It is hard to say if we're headed to the story conclusion and definitive epilogues down the line (and EoS) or maybe another year or more passing.
Depending on Donuts focus there is also the possibility of them retiring or Call of Artemising some OG units to save some money and the sequel/climax to Road to the future could be that. However that would be pretty unpopular and would most likely hurt the units retained active.

We will have to see how much focus the new GBC game take and after all T7S lasted for 12 years so I don't think D4DJ will end just yet.

Audition gacha is really baiting me. It has valentine Kokoa, which I'll like despite it surprisingly not being limited, because it's one of the Hayacoco cards, and it also has a good manual support Muni as well which lets me complete a Hapiara team.
