Really, what I'd like to see instead of the current system is one where it's more like:

On-paper, the current system encourages people to pump money into their oshi because only 1/2/4 characters will get the content, but in reality everyone knows the super whales are out there and that they outright can't compete, so casuals don't bother even participating because they know any money they spend is effectively being flushed down the toilet. I've mentioned this to donuts in survey responses a few times. I wonder if they actually listened.

Kogetsu has some pretty fast tapping portions, but I somehow managed to get through it. Maybe I should up the speed. I'm at 7-8 iirc.

Nah, I call it reverse-FOMO. You take a break, miss some things, then you just continue missing things because if you've missed one, then there is no issue missing more.
That's how it was in Kancolle. I missed an event once because I was so fucking tired of how annoying they've become plus RL issues. I've stopped playing ever since. At least that one you can still get a lot of the stuff you've missed, though probably not the important ones, but the grind for it is tedious. Getting botes from events after the one they appear in is hell.
Personally though, I used to just auto everything barring the unit Growth lives. Nowadays I manual play everything, it's helping my brain feel more alive.
Though I'll also note I've stopped spending energy 1 by 1, even if I have the event cards, that shit is too tedious even on auto. I just go by batches of 5 now.
Partly because my drink income is higher than my expenses, and also I got lucky during the 5th anni event and was spamming cans during the exp bonus they have which was bugged and not working, so I got 600 cans out of the compensation.

I take mini-breaks when the event doesn't interest me at all. I just do dailies and growth and that's it. I don't even bother tiering the event to get the rewards because the effort required to do that burns me out. It might be different for me Vs. you though, because from a character/story POV I only really care about Peaky and Abyssmare and tolerate the others at-best.

It's fun but I can see why they only did it once. The number of letters they had to write would have been absolutely stupid (1st got 3 Q/As, 2nd got 2 Q/As, 3rd got 1 Q/A). That's 6 letters per character. Multiply that by 32 for the core-8 units and you have 188 letters some poor interns (or ChatGPT) had to shit out. That's absolutely not sustainable when Donuts can barely push out story content on a consistent basis.
