I got into beta and it doesn't play anything like HSR. It's more like a rhythm game with rounds and the Action Points working like slay the spire but in real time as you get X amount of energy each turn and enemies have their combat intentions displayed at the top near their health bar but it's real-time and you need to respond or make choices in real time. I never played expedition 33 but I'm told the parries in that game are similar.If you have enough energy/AP remaining you can interrupt enemy attacks by attacking them, using one of your skills, parrying, or using a tag-in skill, if you don't have enough AP or you fuck up and get hit and the enemy runs out of remaining intents the round ends and you move to the next one and your energy recharges and the next begins. The parry timing of some enemies is also fairly tight which surprised me I thought they'd be almost impossible to fail but maybe I'm just getting old at the ripe age of 29
