>>59283266Heyo Ayumu anon that you? You happen to post anywhere other than here?
(Huge WIP)This is Darcy. She's an Ace Trainer in Sinnoh gunning for the championship. She has a reputation as a taskmaster, but she cares a lot about her Pokemon and has a playful, teasing side with those she's closest to. She has an arrogant, perfectionist streak, so she prefers to raise her Pokemon from birth. That way nobody can give them any bad habits. Her battling style is precise and theatrical. Compare her to Cynthia at your peril. She invests a lot in her Pokemon and is drawn to high potential, hence a lot of her mons are late bloomers or Pokemon that get stronger as a battle goes along.Mint (Meowscarada, M) was her starter, and they're practically childhood friends. She trusts him more than she trusts any of the humans in her life, and he's the one that gets to see her softer side more than anyone. He's hopelessly devoted to her and wants to win her the championship as much as she does. As a human-raised mon, he has very human hobbies. Darcy teases him endlessly for still reading comic books and playing video games as an adult. He's very persistent and as one of the only creatures who can truly challenge Darcy, he's become quite adamant. The sexual tension between them is palpable.(Larvesta M) is a young Pokemon, full of power, joie de vivre, and absolutely no focus. Darcy wants to tame him to finally have an answer to the Fairy type, but she has a long road ahead of her. He sees Darcy and Mint as parents, but he’s not a very obedient child.(Mienshao F) is Darcy’s second oldest Pokemon, and her greatest achievement in drawing out potential. As a Mienfoo she was klutzy and presumed unfit for battle, but Darcy noticed she had an unusual knack for bouncing back from injuries. They discovered her coordination issues were due to bad eyesight, and with that corrected her ability to regenerate mid-battle made her a force to be reckoned with. She's cunning and hates to lose. Extremely doomed crush on Mint.
>>59283434>trainer OC thread>OP is of a fakemonLOL
>>59284149Now try to make it look like a Pokemon character instead of a generic anime character
>>59284273Do you have any suggestions? What separates a Pokemon character from a generic anime character to you?
>>59284360That autistic retard probably thinks a character's hair needs to be shaped like a Pokemon in order for it to count, but he is right that there's nothing tying that headshot to the setting. I would make the bangs covering his face longer than the bangs on the opposite side so it imitates Morgrem's appearance more faithfully, make the iris red to match 3/6 mons, borrow the color scheme of at least one and only one mon for his jacket, and put some stylized Pokeball emblems in there so he looks like an inhabitant of the world and not just a visitor. Ideally, a standout character design shouldn't use much more than four different colors so it doesn't look like clown puke. Less color is more color unless a character is explicitly dressing like a carnie. Also holy cow that lineup is a mess with no consistency, his team reads like the roster equivalent of potluck.
>>59283466>albeit with some noticeable misspellings here and thereYeah, I'm no multitasker, so I'm not surprised that trying to act like one made my ESL apparent.>>59283522That me, yes. Did you remember the Volcarona's name? or was it perhaps my rambly way of talking? >You happen to post anywhere other than here?Specifically about Pokémon? No. Rare as it is, these OC threads are the only place I talk about Pokémon.
>>59284149Mienshao is BASED.
>Ghost-type Box Legendaries (Ice/Ghost embodying tradition, Eletric/Ghost embodying progress?)>Players release them (Accidentally? Maybe they're exploring a previously-untamed region. Archeologists?)>Things happen.>????Can't even say how helpful the ideas from last thread were. Went from a vague "Maybe this will work" to an actual idea.Anyways, here's two of the region's Starter 3rd evos to get things going. Asteraze (Fire/Rock) and Soothsea (Water/Psychic)I have the Grass one done too but hate it so it's going back to the workshop. Do you like them? Would you pick them? The plan is for 4 players so the "Starter" question is actually a mess but, figured every region has them so they might as well be there. Thanks for the help already! Gimmicks for towns, ideas for other Fakemon to fill out the regional dex (Monster Manual lmao), NPC ideas, etc. all would be awesome.>>59284265I'll have to get around to doing OC NPCs for the region eventually... surely. I'll try to contribute sprites in between filling out the dex, if anyone wants one, too.
>>59284149Do you have the slightest idea how hard one half of the team is carrying the other half?>>59285169I don't think those figurines actually fit inside of those plastic containers.
>>59285198>I don't think those figurines actually fit inside of those plastic containers.Wailord fits in my Premier Ball.
>>59284490>hisThat's a girlI'm working with what I have from the Picrew for accessories, I'm hoping to learn a little Koikatsu to make a version of her more in line with what's in my head.>potluck teamThe team's theme is supposed to be "high potential" mons. Most of them evolve late or require setup to reach their full potential, but it's not locked down, especially in bottom half. Are there any mons you think would fit better?>>59284710Damn straight she is>>59285198I picked some NFEs to show she still has a ways to go in training her team.
>>59284149>Mint spoilerIf tensions break out, I hope he already got a cut, because things may get "thorny".
>>59283434Rate my team.
>>59285198I imagine them to be figures you have to put together split into 3 pieces, but yes - the capsule came out too small.
>>59285994Includes a Legendary.0/10 how tf did your OC get Urshifu.
>>59286017Urshifu is rare, but not that rare.
>>59286143>Urshifu is rare, but not that rare.It is as rare as all the other rarest possible pokemon (Legendaries) as there is only a single one in the cosmos.
>>59284729Do you have a Pokedex entry for your fakemons? Probably that is worth thinking about if you want to tie in the environment or where they live to how they would live.>The plan is for 4 players so the "Starter" question is actually a mess but, figured every region has them so they might as well be there.Do you plan to have a professor? Or who do you think it's going to deliver the starters? I don't think you need to stick with the 3 elemental starter line up at this point, so you don't need to stick with the water/fire/grass trifecta.Looking at the typings, you could probably make a square and add another type, maybe Bug type? Strong vs grass, weak vs fire and neutral vs water, other options could be maybe Ground or Rock, or be safe and just make it a normal type (remember that eevee is technically the 4th starter in Kanto).>>59285384If you have questions or need resources, feel free to ask, I have used the program enough that I can probably point you to the correct resources or offer some help there.>>59285994I have to agree with the other anon with the urshifu, mostly because this is a water team and he is not a water type.
>>59286585>Do you have a Pokedex entry for your fakemons? Probably that is worth thinking about if you want to tie in the environment or where they live to how they would live.I'm doing stats, abilities and basic movesets for each. Figure it's a good baseline to alter into TTRPGmons later. I guess as more of the Dex gets filled out, the region's traits might come out of that somewhat.>Do you plan to have a professor? Or who do you think it's going to deliver the starters? I don't think you need to stick with the 3 elemental starter line up at this point, so you don't need to stick with the water/fire/grass trifecta.None yet. I fortunately have a few months before schedules are going to align, so plenty of time to figure that out. Any ideas are, of course, welcome. What mons I have done already might end up scattered through the new region's dex, in new places. No reason these ones must occupy the starter slots, just initial ideas so far.
WIP for (>>59284149)>>59286585My major questions are with colors. For example, you can see that nearly all the colors of her top are coming out distorted. The green is too dark, the gold is too orange, and the skirt is way too orange. Do you know what's causing that? Also, the cape is an accessory, and I can't seem to change the color. All I really want to do is make the maroon part green, is there an easy-enough way to do that?
>>59284550Yes and yes. Unforch I can't catch you and the migu talk anywhere other than here since I only occasionally glance at the threads these days. Hope Ayumu's adventures are going well.
>>59287154>KoikatsuAh, I seem I'm in a thread with blessed individuals of culture.
>>59287225It's my first time ever working with it, fun so far.
>>59287225Yee, we have a few koikstsu users: gene, grym and this dude
>>59287275>>59287154Nice! Koikatsu is fun once you're used to it.If you want additional colors, you MAY have to do it yourself in photoshop.
>>59287311Is there an easy way to export an existing accessory to photoshop? That cape is perfect except for the color.
>>59287154>Do you know what's causing that?I think that might be an issue with how Koikatsu renders colors, I think it makes colors a bit darker than they should look like if you put their hex codes in there, I don't know what is happening to her shirt though, that kind of looks like its clipping with something else.>All I really want to do is make the maroon part green, is there an easy-enough way to do that?It is easy, but at that point you need to do the changes outside the game. In the stuff you want to change, you press the button called "material editor, that will bring you a new menu, for the time being just ignored everything in there and try to search for the word "maintex", and export that image, it will open up a file in your PC with the texture the model uses of the cape. From there you can edit it in your image editor of choice, then import it back to the game. Here is a collection of guides made from the old 4chan thread in /h/, there is a visual guide for the material editor utility in there.https://e.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=kZsEm1ZtcWobHPUPmHixbD9NUMRfJDIb607
>>59287519Export the "maintex" in material editor :)
(WIP for >>59287154)TQ: I considered giving her an Eevee or a Kirlia since branched evos are all about potential. I still haven't really thrown them out, her team is in flux.>>59287587>>59287616Thank you, that wasn't too hard once I stopped accidentally overwriting the shirt's maintex. The clipping appears to be a persistent issue across a lot of skirts, but not the archery hakama. Between that and the glove technically being an archery glove, I guess she's an amateur archer.Any more feedback on the design?
>>59287691Hmm. Aside from looking onto getting mods from expand your outfit options, experiment with patterns and clothing shaders. A slight off topic post, but look at my once-pokemon oc Nuwa. I used a gradient pattern on her qipao, and in material editor I changed it's shader to IBl/StandardAlpha to give it more of a glossy metallic sheen. Same with the gloves and legwear, just without the shader change. All those mentioned items are in base koikatsu (at least they should still be), but with a little experimenting you can turn even vanilla clothing into somwtime somewhat unique looking! That's pretty much the name of the game here (aside form "Koikatsu") - Experimentation.Just don't forget to save often, save multiple cards if necessary, and if you're modifying a character's scale or body parts, take note of the current numbers you have them set to.I hope this helps a bit!>>59287284Dah, you can just call me Halianon now if you want.
>>59287691As for feedback, it's not bad at all! Just needs a little more variety, maybe some accessories or color alterations. I hope my tips help!
>>59287726Thank you for the advice. I tried to grab an outfit off BepisDB but it's just getting saved as an image of the outfit. Can I use that, somehow?
>>59284360they have tall eyes with thin iris'
>>59284360>>59287917It's the eyes, most exemplified in the sprites imo.Typically 4 pixels apart (with variance for head tilt / expression / unique features), and a 4x4 square. Pic related is 99.9% of Pokemon's visual identity.Simple color blocking and evenly-sized proportions are less-ubiquitous but still significant features.
>>59287917>>59287943Like this? I think it makes her look too cutesy, personally.
>>59287917>>59287943Took a look at her closest living relative, Clair's, Sugimori art. The eyes weren't very tall but the irises extended out past them. Tried emulating that with this one, I think it turned out better than my other attempt. Still think I like my original eyes better.
Ghostly bump.>>59287185Honestly, until a few days ago, I haven't really thought about my OC or even Pokémon in general... which's sad. Can't say I'll be active, because I won't, but do you have any suggestion of a place to talk Pokémon and OCs outside of here?
