Cubone should have been the only Rock Ground line, due to their Bone helmet (rock).
Also the line should be treated like a pseudo Mythical like Volcarona, with similar stats.

In the context of Gen 2 and up (because of Steel-type) the Rock and Ground types didn't need to be separate types, you could sort of pick and choose their strenghts and weaknesses into one type, like a New Ground-type.

If you want iconic stuff like Rock Slide (now a Ground-type) hitting Flying-types for Super Effective rather than Flying types being immune to it, then you could make certain Ground-type moves have a property like Freeze-Dry. They would become the exception.

One thing that this mod does, AND GAMEFREAK SHOULD ADD, is a variety of "kinds" of attacks.

We have "punch" attacks, but no "kick" attacks for some reason.

This mod adds kick, field and strike moves, afair at the moment, and shifts a bunch of early shitty moves into a "type" of attack - so we also have more punch, recoil, wind, powder, blade and sound moves, and with the greater amount of abilities this allows them to shive in certain pokemon.

Bugsy has a Scyther, he's second gym but quad weak to Rock. Onix is quad weak to TWO starter types, and Let's Go put grass types in Viridian Forest.

I think applying the same fomula Scizor used to determine Onix's stats looks less extreme than that.

Since Scyther and Scizor have 500 BST, you can take 10 Speed off both Onix and Steelix, and it'd just be a buff for Steelix in all honesty. It'd give Onix the same Speed as Ivysaur and Wartortle too, so you'd outspeed his level 14 Onix with a level 16 starter.

Types are not magical energy signatures, rather it's their texture.
(after Gen3 these concepts degrade gradually)

Ghosts:
There is a whole subplot explaining to the player that Ghost types are not actual spirits of the dead. Rather they are flowey creatures (gas, cloth, hair) that cannot be tackled or punched. Ghost types represent one aspect of wind.

Ice:
Cold climate or ice crystal mons.


Flying:
Winged, typically fragile, creatures that are airborne, hence prone to weather attacks or falling after ballistic (rock type) attacks.
