ITT: let's come up with really dumb mechanics. Like, borderline retarded bullshit. Something that would need ten years of power creep to make sense. Aka something that GameFreak might actually do.Here is my idea: boost moves can crit. Every stat boost effect has a 1/16 chance to "crit" and double its effect. For example, if you crit your swords dance, your attack gets raised by 4 stages.Pic unrelated.
Eviolite but for damage
>>59294260Besides Bisharp who really benefits from this
>>59294263ScytherKadabraPorygon 2etc
>>59294263Me
>>59294265>mixed Trick Room attacker Porygon 2 with DownloadHoly shit !
>>59294265This, especially the Gen I trade evos who even if it was only half as strong as normal Eviolite. I think Duosion might actually be the most busted cause it already has the same Sp.Atk as Reuniclus and I assume would have similar functionality in a Trick Room
>>59294257If a Pokemon's speed is twice or more than twice of the opposing Pokemon's speed, that faster Pokemon can use moves twice consecutively in one turn, while the slower pokemon only uses one move.
>>59294260I doubt this will ever really happen, as it will just invalidate many fully evolved offensive mons, plus it's just not very interesting. Almost all eviolite users play a separate role to their evolution, and those who play similar roles have genuine pros and cons. Such as Chansey vs Blissey
>>59294257Mons automatically recover from being knocked out after 3-5 turns, healing up to half HP.>>59294265It would have to raise both attacking stats and speed to be viable. Otherwise with those listed there still wouldn't be much reason to run them as they would still be slower and frailer than their evos and while they would technically not have a downside with an eviolite there is still the opportunity cost of other useful items that could be run.
>>59294300>too high of a speed difference can cause the slower mon to be paralysed for one turn>all it manages to do is mutter "h-he's fast!"
>>59294305>Mons automatically recover from being knocked out after 3-5 turns, healing up to half HP.>fights can only be won by complete sweepsKino.
>>59294300God no, speed is already the most important stat in the game. If anything, speed should be nerfed by making speed roll/initiative based. As in, all Pokemon's speed stats are added to a total pool, and the % your speed stat makes up of that total pool is your % chance to move first. So if one Pokemon has 50 Speed, and the other 150, then the split is 25%/75% on who attacks first.
>>59294257Mons stats are reduced in accordance with the percentage of missing HP.
>>59294311Anon, this is not a thread about mechanics we actually want.>>59294324Poor Archeops. Actually sounds like a fun idea though.
>>59294311more RNG, said satan
Apparently, auto-trick room goes here...
>>59294257I don't care how horribly imbalanced it would be, but I'd like full-on Team vs. Team battles (i.e. all 6 Pokemon on the field at the same time). Have a Front Row and Back Row system and build on what Triple Battles were already doing with move ranges. Dunno how the shifting part of it would work, whether it'd be like Triple Battles or more akin to Rotation Battles where it isn't also consuming an attack.
>>59294337Auto trick-room, as the signature hidden ability on Regieleki.
>>59294257De-evolution
>>59294300>follow up attacks from fire emblem in pokemonKino.
>>59294484Mid-battle devolution.Mid-battle EV training.Mid-battle move breeding.
An attack that always uses your highest attacking stat and targets the opponent's lowest defensive stat.
An attack with 200 BP, 100 accuracy, and no drawback. That's it.
>>59294646Doesn't Necrozma have this? But honestly, a move like that would be a godsend for mixed attackers.
>>59294650fishious rend
>>59294755Necrozma only chooses the offensive stat, not the defensive stat (afaik). Also, if the move chooses to become Psyshock/reverse-Psyshock on command, you don't even need to be a mixed attacker.
A Pokémon that is infected with Pokérus and has not yet become "cured" gains a 1.5x boost to all of its stats, including HP.
>>59294257If a mon would be immune to a move due to type immunities, but the move's damage would reach a threshold if the mon wasn't immune (maybe 50% damage) then that move would bypass immunities, dealing damage (for example a lvl 100 calyrex shadow barraging a lvl 1 rattata would damage ratatta since if it wasn't immune it would kill it)
ghost types are immune to all contact moves
>>59295151That's how it should be. As offensive power creep keeps escalating, typings should have more weird defensive effects.
>>59294547Mid-battle breeding your pokemon!
pokemon can be gay or infertileyou can use ditto to pass down the stats for the former case but in the latter it's a genetic dead endyou only learn this late in the breeding cycle so it wastes a lot of your time
>>59294257The friendship mechanic and effects applying to multiplayer battles.
>>59294257Evasion boosting moves like Double Team in doubles/triples creates an additional target and you can't tell which one is the real one.Accuracy lowering moves like sand attack/mud slap/etc. darkens your screen and randomly changes the target because you can't tell where to aim.
>>59294300>use agility>now twice as fast, can act again>use agility>now three times as fast, can act again>use agility>now four times as fast, can act againthat's some PMD shit right there bro
>>59294257In Doubles/Triples, confusion can cause your Pokemon to attacks its allies as well.
>>59296346>Accuracy lowering moves like sand attack/mud slap/etc. darkens your screen and randomly changes the target because you can't tell where to aim.It should also obscure the mon's moves on the UI and randomly shuffle them.
>>59294257megas are a permanent form so long as they're holding the stone. You can increase the amount of mega pokemon you can have on your team at once via a sidequest up to a max of 4.The team is increased to 8 pokemon.
>>59296370I was always surprised this wasn't the case already.
