Here's something else to consider. Bank operated as a paid service from 2014 until 2023. If you paid for every year of Bank while you could, not only would you have been paying literally until THE CURRENT GEN, but you would have also paid $45 in all, which is more than the games themselves cost at the time! More than a whole extra game's worth for a feature that used to be free assuming you were a longtime fan of the series. What's worse was seeing the beta map of Kalos in the Teraleak and seeing a fucking poke-transfer lab in the scrapped southern portion that never got to see the light of day. Not to mention Bank would just hand out BP letting you buy out everything from the Maison without even having to play it giving it an awful pay to win aspect on top of ruining transfers. Bank is also cloud based, meaning that GF can pull the plug on it any time they please, and they fully intend to considering they urged players to move their pokemon at their earliest convenience, meaning once that happens, Gens 1-7 will be completely cut off from LGPE and newer. Thankfully there are tools you can use to connect these games on their own without these shitty paid services and we aren't *fully* at Game Freak's mercy, but the fact they're deliberately baking planned obsolecense into the main series and charging for it is an insult to longtime players much like many of the other changes introduced with Gen 6.
