I think it was the 2024 LAIC where this dude got to the quarterfinals playing a cool deck but he had these really cute Pikachu sleeves from PokeCen... and he lost on a DQ because his sleeves kept fucking up his draws. Glossy sleeves themselves are fine for collectors but the official ones are cheap, you'll get a handful that squeeze the fuck out of cards because the QC is inconsistent, the fronts are cloudy and make the cards hard to see, and the images tend to wear off easily with little handling."Good" sleeves would be from basically any hobby brand, matte-backed helps cards stop sliding around, typically they have better QC as well. I recommend KMC Perfect Fit as an inner sleeve and Dragon Shield clear classics as an outer.

I've never been involved in this hobby besides opening packs here and there over the years but I found some old cards while cleaning that might be worth some money. I went to a card shop to ask for advice and some guy there tried to buy them off of me saying they were all pretty much worthless with this Sylveon being the best at around 20 bucks. I had already looked up the whatever my cards could be worth and this Sylveon should be around 50-100 before grading but I'm wondering how accurate card prices on sites like pricecharting and tcgplayer are. He seemed full of shit either way so I just bought some sleeves and left.
