>le shitmon that's also a 1% encounter

What the fuck was Hoenn's problem?
>>
>>59302618
For whatever reason in gen 2 and 3 they thought certain pokemon should only exist for collection sake.
I'm glad this pattern was fucking dropped because it made no sense.
>>
>>59302618
If they're shitmons why do you care?
>>
>>59302618
You gonna earn that skitty you want to fuck.
>>
Finding Skitty was a bitch and a half and your reward is one of the weakest Pokemon of all time. Until getting buffed in Gen 7, Delcatty was tied for the ninth weakest fully evolved Pokemon.
>>
>>59302618
Surskit is fine. The issue is that it loses the water typing and becomes a generic flying bug
>>
>>59302618
Minun/Plusle were just fake version exclusives. Same with the bugs, and Kecleon literally has multiple static encounters. Seedot is a 20% encounter too.
>>
>>59302618
well some of them are meant to be version "exclusives" like Caterpie and Weedle in Kanto. Both gettable but one is really common and the other is rare
>>
>>59302618
You got a static Kecleon encounter.
>>
>>59302618
all of those except chimecho and maybe skitty are pretty common in hoenn dude
kecleon is a forced fight too
this was way more of a problem in johto. You didn't even mention feebas lmao
>>
>>59302627
Yeah bro only for collections sake
Not because you love them or niche uses or anything else
There's tons of reasons
People like look into magazine interviews for divine insight but explaining the exact why of these things would take an entire book.
Also even if that was only the case it's still a good thing
>>
>>59302843
The duos are rare but which one depends on version
Seedot is rare but I think it's a trade
They're all rare besides kecleon
>>
>>59302847
shut the fuck up you brown brainlet
>>
>>59302618
Hello Dots and Pluses, the two most important Pokemon in the region!
>>
>>59302618
What? I found like half of these guys without even trying because they popped up in dexnav
>>
>>59302627
I think this is cool. It made sense for gsc when you’re going back to Kanto to give you new rare pokemons to look for. Since you’ve already been there it helps give you something to do
>>
>>59302627
and in gen 5 they thought pokemon should evolve at bullshit levels but unlike op's examples that's never been fixed
>>
>>59302850
Seedot isn’t rare, it’s relatively common since it’s Lotad’s counterpart
>>
>>59302876
I don’t really think it’s bullshit. BW’s evolution levels take into account that you’re going to go through the e4 and champion again in the post game. So it’s just that the mid game and end game doesn’t align with your expectations
>>
>>59302876
pokemon should be evolving later anyway, starters evolving at 16 and 36 is laughable, you spend the tutorial hour with the first stage, spend maybe another hour or 2 with the second stage, and then the other 15 or however many hours with the final stage. Starters should be evolving at 25 and 50. Most 2-stage mons should evolve in the 40's range. I remember playing Sun and being annoyed that my mudbray evolved so early and it took me seeing it online to realize my yungoos was supposed to evolve like 20 levels earlier (I played it mostly at night so it didn't have a chance to evolve)
the unova method is unironically better. I wish more mons evolved at levels like hydreigon and volcarona do. In fact, I'd even like it if you could circumvent the higher level caps with evolution stones: Have the ability to evolve earlier to placate fags like (You) but with the downside of learning moves later/not at all like early stone evos were trying to do. That's how it should have always been handled.
>>
>>59302923
Just press b, retard.
>>
>>59302923
Word. It always feels weird that my journey is just beginning and my starter’s first stage only lasts through one gym before he evolves. Evolutions should be more rewarding. It makes sense to get your Pokémon’s most powerful forms only like right before the final boss battles and then postgame
>>
>>59302925
Game design shouldn't be ignored in favor of personal handicaps. as an example, Nuzlockes can be cool and all, but they're autistic and not the intended gameplay. Making mons evolve later with newly implemented options that increase player choice would be beneficial to the game itself. Don't be daft.
>>
>>59302941
Pressing b to decline an evolution is intended gameplay.
>>
>>59302948
I told you to not be daft.
>>
>>59302951
You're so cringe. This is why no one likes talking to you.
>>
>>59302867
In the gba games
>>
>>59302876
Nah it worked fine for BW. The problem is that it works in BW only, in modern games they keep putting late game game Unova Pokémon in early routes.
>>
>>59302627
it's more immersive, not every mon needs to big brawling monster that evolves at level 36
>>
>>59302627
At least Gen 3 introduced Contests. You had a valid reason for Pokemon to exist outside of battling.
>>
>>59302618
Did mega evolution even save chimecho?
>>
>>59302640
Skitty's rareness was because Delcatty was very good in Contests. It was meant to be used to showcase them.

In future gens without Contests though it's just left as a piece of shit.
>>
>>59303038
Compared with regular Chimecho it’s 1000x better, easily one of the most improved megas.
‘Bronzong but with better support options and actual offence’ typically isn’t worth the mega slot unfortunately.
Mega Chimecho hard counters serious threats like Garchomp and Mega Floette though so it’ll probably remain a rare anti-meta pick.
>>
>>59303038
Ok as a second mega for some teams, not much else
>>
>>59302618
it made them more special since they aren't good at battling
>>
I like the way they did bagon better, put a rare pokemon in a special place rather than seeded in the normal grass at a low rate
>>
Shiftry is my fav shit mon
>>
>>59302618
Mew is the ultimate shitmon with a low encounter rate
>>
>>59303140
Couldn’t they have made then special by making them good in battle instead of being worthless fodder mons
>>
>mew
>can legally learn every move in the game
>even hacked mews are legitimate according to gf online and in my official tournaments
>extremely low encounter rate on faraway island
>glass canon relegated to a freebie handout
>>
>>59303225
>>glass canon relegated to a freebie handout
in what world is mew a glass cannon? Judging by the spelling error I suspect you were trying to say something else.
>>
>>59302618
every pokemon is someone's favorite, anon!
(unpopular opinion but i love gen3 mons they're very iconic!)
>>
>>59303027
Don't disagree but I think if a mon is going to be so rare it should have some value within the main gameplay.
>but doubles utility
Most of the ones in Ops image were shit at that
>>
Skitty is not a 1% encounter, Delcatty is.
>>
>>59304145
>it should have some value within the main gameplay.
Every pokemon in the OP can solo the game. What more value do you need?
