i'm about 1/3 through XY and it is seriously the prettiest region in the whole series so far, does any other get close?

>>59304519I guess. it's really the first time they tried having these big visual set pieces, and the art style was still simple enough that the bad graphics didn't take away from it. my issue with it is that the views are mostly just empty facades. like, you go to the giant castle, and there's basically nothing in it. just a bunch of empty rooms. or the tower in your pic is just running up a big spiral staircase. any awe that those place might inspire initially just deflates when you realize there's nothing in them.
