Nintendo reused lines for several years before getting new recordings, even Mario Sunshine uses a mix of new and 64 clips. Meanwhile Ohtani has done literally every episode of the anime anew. Charles being recast was only shocking because of how long he'd been around; Young Link was recast for Wind Waker, and then again for adult Link in Twilight Princess, and again for Skyward Sword.Also consider that Miyamoto and the suits at Nintendo of America simply came to hate Martinet's guts for no real reason, and wanted him gone (as seen by the unceremonious dumping they gave him).
