Why must I always be a kid in pokemon games? I just wanna play with my team as myself, a long-haired bearded adult man. We'll never have main characters in different age ranges and with different body types? TL;DR: Trainer customization is still very limited. Even on Champions, that's supposed to have the best and more seasoned trainers, there are only children.
There should also be customization options for the pokemon themselves with accessories, for example. I want to be able to use a Gengar doll as the Substitute decoy instead of the classic green dino.

Pokémon is not a "kids franchise" akin to fucking Paw Patrol; it's a family-friendly franchise that appeals to everyone, including grown men and the elderly. Playing as an adult wouldn't change that much as long as you already know its tier. Also, the main characters in each mainline entry aren't even implied to be 10-year-olds; it's just some 4Kids dub bullshit to make it appeal to literal toddlers. It was always early or late teens at best.
