Iron Valiant/Iron Crown is allegedly an actual deck. I was wondering if I was just a goober for thinking a potential zero cost attack might not actually be that clever.

It still relies on the opponent’s bench, which I think people are better at playing around after all those Suicune decks. But Professor Turo is still kinda another “Scoop-up” effect, so soaking up some damage and chipping away with free attacks isn’t completely useless.

I liked the old TCG Online trading system, because it made trading for any card possible.
In Pocket, any card at the top of the respective market basically cannot be traded for, because we can only do 1-for-1.

That being said, the 1-for-1 system makes the trading quite unique compared to regular free markets.
Supply and demand are key of course, but certain things can be learned to maximise one's buying power.

Due to the lack of currency or equivalent (e.g. the latest pack in Online) supply and demand can't be looked at in a 1-dimensional fashion.
A card's supply changes depending on what's being offered.
Someone looking for a card in one pack, but pulls a different one that they didn't want will be more willing to trade than average.
For instance, someone with 2 copies of Cyrus looking for their first copy of Mars will be more willing to trade a 3rd Cyrus that they pulled, than someone that pulls a 3rd Copycat or Lisia, even though Cyrus typically has higher value than both of those cards.

The markets themselves are also quite unique.
The 1 star market is incredibly liquid, because 24hr wonder picks are effectively market maker incentives.
The 1 and 2 diamond gold markets are very illiquid (in part, because they are new), but the lack of shinedust cost to trade these high value cards (zero commission trading) makes them perhaps the only viable market for flipping cards for profit (arbitrage) on a regular basis.

Cards are our "currency" to "purchase" other cards, which also adds an interesting dynamic, because the value of our currency follows a probability distribution (rather than our dollar being worth a dollar).
Some people value meta cards only, some want their favourite Pokemon, and some want their favourite trainers.
As such, some cards that have low average value, but high value in the top tail of the distribution can pull some very surprising high value trades.

This can be combined with the off-book market (trading outside of trading apps/forums - fishing for trades purely in-game) to get some very good deals.
For instance, one can estimate a player's collection depth by looking at the crowns and 2 stars in their showcase and offering a gold trade to bridge the quantity gap.
For example, if you see someone without a crown ball, but with crown Mewtwo, Pikachu, and Charizard, giving your gold Nurse Joy for a gold Sabrina/Erika/Misty is easy.

Pokehub is fine too but more intrusive with ads. I also find I get less offers on there but it was where I got Cyrus and completed my GA dex

Pokehub you wishlist for specific trades, Poketrade you have to set a pool (which can be annoying e.g. if you list a valuable 2* you'll have to remove stuff you won't trade it for from your wishlist to avoid spam)
Generally I find Poketrade best for finding 2* trades and Pokehub better for everything else but it's worth using both anyway

Just tried Espeon/Iggly/Altaria and it's fucking disgusting. You legit just stop your opponent from playing and steal wins and even PCL isn't enough to stop it, the ONLY reliable counter is Ogrepon, except if you go 2nd and start with the Espeon combo you just killed whatever mon they had out before they could even put energy on it. It's absolutely insane that a deck this degenerate was allowed to make it in.
