A different conflict? A timeskip? A completely different region but the same Historical characters?

Sengoku era mythology and events are pretty firmly established in Japan culture. Putting the character in any other setting than one directly inspired by the era would not fly over well, me thinks.
Nobunaga is the conqueror and first of the unifiers, even if depictions vary somewhat in the portrayal of his ruthlessness and eventual demise, his historical role is at this point too attached to the person.

Medieval Galar setting with Æthelstan as your main antagonist vying for total control

I mean Ransei 2.0 would still be japan inspired.

I mean that it is ingrained in Japanese culture what these characters are and what they're not. Nobunaga is pretty much Japan's Washington. Making a game where Washington and the rest of the Founding Fathers gang went somewhere else after founding America would be just as silly. Sure the region is called Ransei but it is very deeply rooted in Sengoku-era Japan.

>Movesets for Pokemon rather than each having just 1 move that could potentially be shit, making every evolution a gamble
>Doesn't need to be a true sequel, just another SRPG with Pokemon would be nice
>Minimum cap high enough to easily carry you through the stories and link compatibility only for minmaxers (like 70-80% minimum). It sucks getting a Pokemon you like just to have them get capped at like 30%

Three Kingdoms China seems obvious to me, but there's still so many japanese who dislike the chinese that it might genuinely be a bad business decision. i just wanna see lu bu with a rhyperior.

Randomizable map, randomizable kingdoms, randomizable Warlords/Warriors. Randomizable everything.

They should have Namco make Pokken 2 while they're at it
>>
>>59320937
I think you're not understanding that doing the Pokemon Sengoku Jidai again with a different map and doing the American revolution instead are two exclusive different hypothetical options rather than things that are combined togethed

It would just be a reboot story wise but a sequel gameplay wise. Isn't that how the Nobunaga's ambition works? It's the same conflict over a game with gameplay advancements?

Is Dynasty Warriors popular in Japan? Conquest has the same developers so it wouldn't be out of left field for a Conquest game to be set during the Three Kingdoms period.

I think a more reasonable sequel would be something like the Roman Empire; it's far enough in the past that it's not exactly entangled by modern standards in the same way a sequel using George Washington or Napoleon or Tzar Nicholas as a backdrop.

MAYBE they could also do something with the Greek city states.

The issue with even Greek city states or Roman Empire is that a lot of their problems were external, and you don't want to make the Germanics or Gauls or Persians "the bad guys". On the flip side, the Sengoku period took place effectively in Japan only and was about unifying it under Nobunaga. So unless there was a similar period in European history that was purely "internal" matter in the same way, I dont see them using another historical time period.

This was a collaboration with Koei Tecmo, so I guess that a second entry could be based on Romance of the 3 Kingdoms.
OR another Sengoku based entry with characters that weren't present in the original title.

It's sad because I am sure less than 1% of people on this board have ever interacted with this game in some form

Why not have it take place in Gaul instead? Unifying the various gaulish tribes under your rule akin to Vercingétorix to eventually face off against the Romans, except the Poké-gauls might win this time ig. Imagine the Asterix & Obelix featuring

Do you think it's more or less played than Ranger?
