First of all, it's an exaggeration to say he hates the protagonist, because while he is a douchey rich boy he does have a change of heart and was never really that bad to begin with.
Also, plenty of people draw fan art shipping enemies without needing to draw the entire process of them becoming friends first. And there was definitely some Ortega x protagonist art before the well dried with the focus on Kiki (I'm not too mad because I love Kiki too)
