There are several jokes surrounding the grader being in a good/bad mood for a 10 vs 9, not wanting to provide an entire batch as 10s, showing 10 preference to high rollers, etc. Despite the aforementioned, I refuse to own pkmn in slabs unless they are in psa (outside of bgs blacks & 10s). Nobody cares about cgc pristines, or anything beckett 9.5 and lower. SGC, despite being a big company, are literally who for most. I'm keeping an eye on TAG and PCG, but I don't respect either of them yet. TAG has low-quality plastic that fractures, and don't even fully weld their slabs. Unsure if either has been resolved, but I do enjoy how the slab looks and the challenge of getting a 10. PCG is hard to take seriously because of the big name associated with it and literally who status, but metal etched card in night-indestructible slabs feelsgoodman. Finally, for the absolute prettiest slabs I've ever seen, check out ARS Grading. I think they are Japan only, but the aesthetic presentation is unmatched. If money doesn't matter and you're never selling, then just get whatever you like the most. If you plan on selling, avoid everything except PSA for pkmn. Good luck anon.
