Is the kanto fatigue real or it's just reddit moment?
>>
>>59345350
Kanto fanboys are all millennial redditors
>>
>>59345350
Mainline games-wise, they haven't really pushed Gen 1 in the fore-front for a while. It was most prominent in Gen 7, and then Gen 8 still had some but certainly less, and then Gen 9 had even less.
I think more people are able to appreciate Gen 1 again.
>>
>>59345360
>I think more people are able to appreciate Gen 1 again.
Especially since it's unreleased/beta content was resurfaced, we slowly got another pokemania.
>>
>>59345350
>>
>>59345841
This is a 13 year old game. What do you have to gain out of whining about something from a long time ago?
>>
>>59345845
>13 years is old now
>>
>>59345841
It was a knee-jerk reaction to BW1 just having new mons, someone at marketing scolded GF for it.
>>

>It was a knee-jerk reaction to BW1 just having new mons, someone at marketing scolded GF for it.
This is such a pussy reaction to have
>>
>>59345847
Gen 1 was pretty damn old by 2009 so yes. It's long ago enough that the newest game is basically a Gen 6 nostalgia trip
>>
>>59345866
>Gen 1 was pretty damn old
Gen 6 isn't
>>
>>59345854
There was a leaked document from June 2010 detailing their early plans for X and Y, they already planned what became mega evolutions, even mentioning Mewthree.
This is before Gen 5 released by the way
>>59345863
What "pandering" was there in Scarlet and Violet? They actually did a lot more Johto stuff in that game
>>
>>59345867
Sounds like you can't accept the passage of time. FRLG, HGSS, and ORAS already existed by the time the games they were remaking turned 13
>>
>>59345878
13 years will never be old
>>
>>59345882
How long does it take for something to be old in your eyes? A kid could've been 6 in 2013 and now they can legally post here
>>
>>59345854
>marketing scolding the owners/operators of the entire shit they have the privilege of printing money with
This was Game Freak's own reaction to the blowback from manchild faggots screeching online about how it was bad they couldn't use pikachu but teased them with the cunt in one the cities. They own the marketing, they tell it what to do, not it tell them what to do.
>>
>>59345891
>How long does it take for something to be old in your eyes?
As old as your mom

This is the one that gets me. I don't understand how anyone can say XY weren't Kanto pandering when they not just copied Viridian Forest's layout wholesale but also told you they did.

It's a reddit moment.
>>
>>59345350
What people call Kanto fatigue is just Charizard/Pikachu/Gengar fatigue
>>
>>59346118
Yes because it was clear from X/Y and B/W2 that Game Freak/TPC were scared shitless by the response to B/W1 from everywhere that wasn't Japan and tried way too hard to overcorrect. The Kanto trio getting Megas over the LITERAL NEW STARTERS was the canary in the coal mine.
>>
>>59346130
while Megas were highly Kanto skewed and regionals were originally only Kanto Pokemon, Gen 6 not having any Megas besides Diancie was justified. If they designed them with Megas in mind, when Megas were cut, they'd feel like they're incomplete. Like the Gen 8 Gigantimax Pokemon
>>
>>59346188
>they'd feel like they're incomplete. Like the Gen 8 Gigantimax Pokemon
The gen 8 starters barely change in their gigantamax forms
>>
>>59345895
Then they did the same thing again in SM by copying Nugget Bridge.
>>
>>59346130
>let’s throw away the entire appeal if seeing older iconic pokemon get interesting new designs a d instead make new pokemon shit on purpose so they can be upgraded with this temporary gimmick because some underaged autist might be jealous over old pokemon
>>
>>59345350
I just don't understand how every new game markets nostalgia to 30 year olds hard as fuck, but if you ask why the games suck everyone days hey chill out dude they suck because they're not made for 30 years to play. You're just supposed to pay $100 for the game and day 1 DLC.
These games are totally for children. Which is why they market it for the adults. And price it for the adults. Designing it for adults? What? No. Don't be stupid. These games aren't for adults.
>>
>>59346103
And Mew, and Mewtwo, and the legendary birds, and Eevee, and Dragonite, and Lapras, and the region itself that's been remade a gazillion times, and Red, and Green, and Giovanni, and most of all, its legions of fake-ass "fans" who dropped the series when it stopped being trendy and came back once it was hot again.
>>
The only returning starter in gen 8 on launch being Charizard, which was also the champion's ace he went everywhere with, was quite possibly the most shameless thing I've ever seen in a game that wasn't related to microtransactions.
>>
No,they know nobody likes those nupokemon designs, so kanto is the only they have
>>
>>59346366
>These games are totally for children. Which is why they market it for the adults. And price it for the adults. Designing it for adults? What? No. Don't be stupid. These games aren't for adults.
The whole series was designed for all ages. Until XY when it was trying to appeal to a younger demographic.
>>
>>59347020
Nice cope
>>
>>59346130
The fact that you're forced to choose kanto starters during early game should've been a dead giveaway.

>>59346208
yes

You're on a Pokemon board, nigger.

>that wasn't Japan
Japan complained too, most of them don’t like gen 5 pokedex, stop pretending it’s only the west
>>
>>59347037
NTA but Japan loved these games since launch. And for those who complained were the minority.
Even in Murka, the ones who complained about le trubbish are mostly genwunners and from this fucking shithole (yes, the leaks happened here and most anons were dogpilling it at the time), and all of them are hilariously small in numbers.

Stop gaslighting yourself that Unovadex was some nature's mockery. Especially when Muk exists in the first place.
>>
>>59345350
Not liking Kanto would be like not liking mario, luigi, peach, toad, and Yoshi from the mario franchise.
>>
>>59347215
Mario luigi peach toad and yoshi are actually good
Kanto is just nostalgia with no substance fuck you and your retarded ass comparison
>>
>>59347223
What substance do those Mario characters have that Kanto doesn't? They're used the exact same way in every mainline Mario game and only get some minuscule depth in spinoffs just like most of Kanto related stuff.
>>
>>59345350
I think people miss the simplicity and miss when pokemon were animals
>>
>>59347223
Try hard, kanto are still the best the designs in the franchise nudesigns have not substance
>>
>>59347215
No, not liking Kanto is the equivalent of not liking the endless Nu Super Mario Bros. rehashes, which any Mario fan with standards dislikes.

>and miss when pokemon were animals
So... exactly the same as how they are now? Then again, being totally ignorant of the franchise but still barging back in, larping as the experts and demanding that it be made all about themselves is what genwunners have always done, so maybe that's the point you were making.

>>59347257

>>
>>59347578
Gamefreak hasn't given a fuck about their world's ecosystem since before you were born. Retroactively trying to fix that with some shitty book changes nothing.
>>
>>59345358
Kanto haters are all millenials redditors

Zoomers love Kanto
>>
>>59347578
>playing all the gens is bad
>real experts only play current gen
What a stupid post
>>
>>59347615
Hi millennial
>>
>>59346130
>The Kanto trio getting Megas over the LITERAL NEW STARTERS
The actual reason for this is that Megas started as Cross Gen Evolutions.
Nobody thought of them as a regional gimmick when XY was being pitched. It was more like how Togekiss and other Johto evos were added to DP.
>>
>>59345371
>we slowly got another pokemania
No we didn't. Are you retarded?
>>
>>59345940
>Maybe 2 actual examples of kanto pandering and a bunch of route filler Pokemon
Is that seriously all you could find? Ignoring the Pidgey by that same logic, you literally have as many or more examples per game in the top panel.
>>
>>59347870
>D-D-D-D-DOESN'T COUNT!!!
>>
>>59347874
Yeah, what about it?
>>
>>59347883
Agreed, XY has no kanto pandering
>>
>>59346130
B/WhatsApp world just didnt feel cohesive. I think later regions really lock down region visual cohesion. (Minus Paldea) Unova feels like America if it lost WW2 and was taken over by the Japanese.
>>
>>59347047
So, you simultaneously claim that Gen 5 hate was a minority and yet was strong enough to somehow influence the franchises future.
Those are contradictory arguments
Not to mention false, see >>59345874
>>
>>59347870
Gen 1 mons do make up a huge chunk of wild encounters and trainer battles in DPPt. XY is more balanced between the generations in that respect
>>
>>59345350
>kanto fatigue
There no such thing op
>>
>>59345863
The screenshot is one of the most egregious example of pandering. Previous gens made more active effort in trying to shill regionalmons even though most people still preferred the classics.
>>
>>59345350
It's just zoomies and gen alphas bitter that they aren't catered to. I think on some level they know nothing of their generation has staying power so they're lashing out.
>>
Millennials truly are the death of pokemon
>>
>>59348830
>It's just zoomies and gen alphas bitter that they aren't catered to.
Aren't they exactly who Pokemon should be catering to? After all, you shills always tell us the games don't have to be good since they're for kids.
