Natural. Many plants and even animals are toxic as to deter others eating them
Mons like koffin/garbodor are obviously chemical toxins though but for the most part it's a natural thing you see in nature

Both.

Why are you posting an animal?
>>
>>59347831
It's extremely poisonous. There are many poisonous and venomous animals, and they've existed for millions of years.
>>
>>59347675
It's extremely poisonous. There are many poisonous and harmful factories, and they've existed for hundreds of years.
>>
>>59347852
But the factories you posted aren't harmful, they're expelling steam which is harmless
>hundreds of years
Hmmm that is a bit less than millions huh?
>>
>>59347849
But the frogs aren't that harmful, they're just living on trees which is harmless.
>millions of years
Hmmm all that time and poisonous animals have had that little impact on the environment huh?
>>
>>59347877
The frogs evolved into being poisonous as a defense mechanism, but there's also venomous animals who use their vemon to kill. The frogs is just an example
>impact on the environment
And why would that matter for the OP question? The question isn't which aspect of Poison is more influential for the environment so wtf are you babbling about? Why are you so offended by what I'm saying kek
>>

>b-buh venom!
This thread is about Poison type, not Venom type.
>>
>>59347899
Venom is a category of poison, it's a toxic substance
Also industrial pollution is not "poison" either so idk wtf you are sperging about when it doesn't even defend your own point at all?
>>
>>59347949
>Venom is a category of poison
No it isn’t.
>>
>>59347954
>Nuh-uh!
Okay so you're just trolling
Poison, venom and toxin are all interchangeable terms unless you're writing a scientific paper about a very specific form of toxic substance
And by your own retard logic, pollutants aren't poison either lmao
So if you think only actual "poison" is "Poison type" then the only kind of Pokémon that is actually Poison type would be things like the Bulbasaur line or the Foongus line. Pokémon like Ekans can't be Poison type since those are venomous species who inject their toxins right?
>>
>>59348002
>Poison, venom and toxin are all interchangeable terms
No they aren’t.

Which Poison types are actually poisonous and which are venomous? Are there any who are both?

Okay, now do pollutants and tell us why they are the exactly same as poison, to the point where they define the entire type :)
Also you know what they say about parroting, right?
>>
>>59348063
All Grass/Poison dual types are poisonous, which isn't that many. I guess you could also include fuckin Pecharunt cause it's a peach. You could also include the Croagunk line as they are based on poisonous frogs whose poison is meant to be ingested to be effective, and the same goes for the Toxel line.
Venomous is everything that spreads toxins by damaging skin, be it biting or something like spikes (Poison Point etc). This includes the majority of Poison types (I think) such as all the Nidos, Zubat line, Ekans line, Weedle line, Tentacool line... you get the idea.
Special mention goes to Paldean Wooper line because it would seem like they belong to the Poisonous category but the animal they're based on is the Iberian ribbed newt which turns its own ribs into spikes covered in toxins so it's apparently defines as both venomous AND poisonous
And the third categorie would be the pollutants, so all the garbage based Pokémon like the Grimer line or Trubbish line, all gas based Pokémon like Koffing line or... I guess Skuntank line?? Not pollution related so I don't even know if that counts, so maybe gas needs to be separate? I wouldn't count Grimer as gas type
And I don't know where the hell I should put the Gulpin line, they don't fit in any of these categories.

Most if not all poisonous Pokemon would also quality as venomous since they can use attacks to inject or drench the opponent in venom.

>logicfagging the type chart
kek
>>
>>59348163
I mean yeah by that logic every single Pokémon that can learn Toxic (including non-Poison types) is venomous. I was trying to think of things the Pokémon are based on rather than what they actually do as Pokémon because yeah duh they all use attacks that puts toxins into the enemy's system somehow
>>
>>59348194
But they did fix Toxic's distribution in Gen 9, now the only things that learn it are honorary Poison types like Umbreon (who is canonically poisonous)
>>
>>59348206
That's true yeah
Umbreon sweats poison but can apparently deliberately spray it on enemies so you could say it's venomous. Gligar line is also honorary Poison type. Anyone else?
