Personally, I think overall there are more good ones than bad ones. I think the problem is, good or bad, most of them feel detached in theme from their pre evos. Like, I love Honchkrow, but Murkrow was designed with a witch theme. That does not connect to mob boss whatsoever. Same could be said for a lot of them. And for the bad ones it really stands out because it feels like you’re discarding design ideas that were totally fine on their own and shifting them for no real reason.

Rhydon goes from a classic kaiju design to whatever the fuck Ryperior is. Magneton evolves into a ufo. Magnezone being an UFO is indeed a complete new element but it's making use of the general idea of these being floating steel objects with 3 "eyes" which looks a bit alien-like, it's a bit of a stretch but still works in the end imo

Rather, I think GF thought “what’s a new interesting angle we can take for an evolution for this?” And then came up with that and bridged them together. Again, works for some and doesn’t for others.
