Since 3D models have been getting updated from PLA onwards, is it delusional to believe that we might get updated cries in the future? Picrel was absolutely neutered moving into XY.

I fucking hope not, Game Freak already ruined the original cries once, why would you want them to do it again? What they need to do is bring back the cries as they were originally because each one was designed with the hardware in mind as sound capabilities evolved. Retroactively changing the cries made them all sound like shit, especially instances like Kyogre where it went from terror of the deep to screeching retard. The revised cries for the Gen 1-5 pokemon all sound fucking dreadful and they had no reason to change them. It was a complete waste of dev time and resources to make the sound design worse.

>hydreigon had a generic monster roar soundclip stapled into his cry
>volcarona was given a headset mic from 2006 to record with
>galvantula, golurk, and cofagrigus all went from cool thematic cries to incomprehensible static
the in-house gen 5 hateboner going into gen 6 was insane. masuda really let the team down.
