I've never seen a flopping anime actually getting a filler extension beyond its actual plot. If the TV slot is so sacred and HZ is such a failure, why aren't they just repeating ashnime episodes until gen 10?I want to understand myself because I genuinely thought HZ was over in May.

The previous anime would just adapt whatever game is newest, reset Ash's team and move on, but HZ had an original story, which is now complete, so either all the current characters have to be retired, they delay things until gen 10, or they come up with a new original story that may overlap with gen 10.They seem to be going with the second option, just delaying things by adapting the various spinoff games until then.
