After having completed the Battle Factory and Mirage Island, I’m now gonna breed me a team for the Frontier. But to learn the ropes, I’m starting off with my favourite Hoenn Mon, Kecleon.Back when I did my playthrough a couple heats ago, I caught all the standing Kecleons and soft reset for the nature I wanted, then picked the one with the best stats of the bunch for my playthrough team(he’s level 100 and EV trained). So to start I picked the fittest female Kecleon of that original wild caught batch, gave her an everstone, and breed 12 more. (I was originally also going to do a batch on FireRed, but not only does Magma Armor not work there, my idea of getting one parent from each game to speed up egg laying is unneeded as they already lay eggs too damn fast for me)I’m using the markings (something I’ve never used before) to mark babies with the highest HP, Attack, Defense, and Special Defense. This one girl has the highest in 3 of the 4 and so is moving alone to breed with her dad (who is still the top male).Funnily enough, she has perfect special attack (completely useless to me), and a check with the stats guy confirmed her mom does too. Just my luck.

Second batch of twelve finished. Way more had the wrong nature and more than half had perfect special attack from the mom and grandmother, and all the males sucked.However, this girl stood out. Not only did she get ranked as “Quite impressive in ability” (total IVs 121-150), but she has “flawless” HP! Probably the most inportant for Kecleon! She’s going to the Daycare to mate with her Grandpa(who is still the best male, playthrough king! Also inbreeding wow)
Kept getting perfect special attack fucks. Turns out my perfect HP girl also has perfect special attack. Fuck
I found a male with perfect HP IVs, so now both parents have that. I still have the stupid useless perfect special attack circulating, but whatever.I know getting 6IVs legit pre-Gen 6 is basically impossible and even 5IVs is unlikely as hell, but 3 should be doable. (I mean I already have one with two even if it’s the wrong two) Kecleon is too slow to worry about speed and I don’t use special attack so I just need to worry about the other 4.
Ok google says they can pass down 3 from the parents.So it I can get 3 perfect IVs across both parents (ideally one of them doubled up or two different ones on each) I should get 3 IV babies like once every 15 babies or so. And getting a 4IV one would just require one extra good roll…so like…1 in 300?
>>59360441Emerald breeding can be easily manip'd if you care about that you might not tho, but yeah I found theres a frame 20 minutes in that you can use the battle video frame skip to go to and then if you have two 3iv parents they always give birth to a 6iv egg

What’s the best way to steer back on course if the natures go wrong?I have a mom with perfect defense and a dad with perfect HP. I lost the nature chain tho. I’m hoping to roll a boy with both so I can breed it with an Impish girl from a previous Gen. Is there a better way?

I got something better.I rolled a male with perfect Defense AND PERFECT SPECIAL DEFENSE OUT OF NOWHERE!I just need to find an Impish female from an earlier match with perfect HP(I’m sure I must have one…I hope, I think the non-Impish need was for the defense daughter and I already had perfect HP and that uselsss perfect special attack ) and I’m in very good shape to get 3 perfect IVs maxing my bulk!!!
