Not true. Gen 2 didn't outsell Gen 1, Gen 3 didn't outsell Gen 2, Gen 5 didn't outsell Gen 4. Gen 6 is harder to compare since it didn't have a 3rd version, so it didn't outsell Gen 5 and got outsold by Gen 7 in the end despite XY selling more than SM
