Gardevoir was a stronger deck than Dragapult currently is and was both simple to play and oppressive to play against because every good attacker was a single prize. The problem with Dragapult is that it's almost half of any given tournament so it's more obnoxious despite objectively being a worse deck because you feel exhausted playing against the same deck nonstop
