Of course, that's if you're trying to build your contests off of gameplay inspired autism. Contests are easily modified and altered to fit whatever works best for your story since they aren't as straight forward as a battle. A performance can really be anything after all.

Pokemon Crystal Light! Technically a retelling of Final Fantasy 1, but since that game is so threadbare story wise it's more like using the skeleton of that to tell it's own story so there's not that high of a bar to entry. The first couple chapters 1-to-3, are a bit dry with a lot of flashbacks that seem to cover a lot of the same ground. It feels like we get an explanation of Charazard, Blastoise, and Venasur being the sword, shield and scepter of Coneria every other flashback. It gets better after that with the story really picking up as the main group forms, the younger Princess Jane, WoL the Warrior of Light aka fateman, and the six pokemon of light all starting to form. Jane and Wol have a pretty fun dynamic with her being the outgoing one to Wol's 'pushed along by fate', thing he has going on. All of the pokemon are fun as well, with Hitmonchan and Vileplume feeling like standouts among the castAs it's a Final Fantasy story the plot is about a group of heroes who have to defeat the forces of chaos, find a collection of relics and save the world.It's pretty good but I don't have much to say as I read it pretty casually.

The tragedy of Wol's fate as the Warrior of Light is that nothing he did would have mattered, and by all accounts he objectively failed. A part of him knows that, but he is still crowned the hero regardless.But there is another side to that coin.
