I just couldnt get very far into the Diamond/Pearl chapters. The Manga follows the games storybeats too closely by that point. It really peaked for me in the first several volumes during the yellow arc when they tried to be a little creative about it and found a nice middleground of their own between the ashime and games.

I didn't think anything about the Diamond and Pearl slapstick routines until later, when it suddenly stops being just a gag and is suddenly this serious reflection of their relationship dynamic where Diamond felt Pearl was always pushing him around. So now returning to all the old slapstick scenes comes off different. Is this supposed to be funny still, or has Pearl actually just been beating the shit out of Diamond like a controlling psychopath for real this whole time? Or is it both? Green and I played palworld together and beat the game in about a day. Really hated how barebones the base building was and the excessive amount of materials needed to make any progress but the game was fun whenever we could venture out and explore. It felt like a pokespe adventure though Legends Arceus had better battling gameplay. As in Pal world pokemon/pals will just awkwardly face tank the boss while their moves are on super long 30 sec- 2 min cooldowns. Im sure if it ever got any real modding with recolorable new outfits (UE4 supports this by default), new base structures, better pal AI, and some rebalancing, it could be a proper pokespe game. Would be cool to see if that playerbase ever mods in a new map to explore.Riding around on the back of the spider pal and using their web slinging as a grapple hook was fun and reminded me of Yellow and her duduo.
