Why did the Ashnime never recognize/show TMs?
>>
The writers knew they shouldn't exist
>>
No but somehow there was a meowth and a persion who could use thunderbolt and a rhydon that knew surf
They also feature a master ball in just one episode and the guy who has it wants to use it on a whiscash

Has there been any adaptation that's shown how Pokemon learn moves from TMs? Anyways it makes for better tv to have TM moves be learned through training arcs.
>>
>>59384654
Because they go against the core message of the anime being all about how anything is possible through earnest training and the power of friendship, if you could just slap a strong move onto a mon with a magic disc then you'd bypass standard fare training arcs to have a mon learn and/or master a specific move.

Didn't they show potions as spray bottles?
>>
>>59384728
They always were.

This is incorrect. Actually in gen1 they were shown to be a needle. The guy that made the potions for the TCG/anime was a 3D artist and had nothing to do with the original vision, and thus, noncanon.
>>
The series would have ended with Surge and his Raichu.

Anon. They've been using that version of Potions in mainline since Ruby and Sapphire and that one's always been a spray bottle

Considering the picture at the top of the Power-Ups table is a Rare Candy, it follows that your needle is a depiction of an Antidote. If you have an image of the gen1 games clearly declaring that Potions are inside a needle, we'd love to see it.

Pokemon in the anime could learn TM moves, there was just no explanation or distinction for it.
Sometimes they pointed out how unusual it was, like Meowth's Thunderbolt or Rhydon's Surf, but then they gave out Ice Beam or Shadow Ball to just about everything that could learn them so whatever.
>>
pretty sure they showed it like twice

Anon, that's Full Heal. The TCG also depicted it as a needle.

They didn't know how to animate TMs being used probably
>>59384712
IIRC only The Electric Tale of Pikachu does
>>

>>59384919
They appear in PokeSpe too but the mechanism isn't explained. In the RGB Chapter they even use the original concept of them being like belts when drawn although I think it's used for a gag both times. Later they become CDs.
>>
>>59384654
ashnime has very rarely been logical
>>
>>59384654
It's a retarded mechanic and a vestigial remnant of the original idea where the digitalization/PC related aspects of the setting were supposed to be more important.
>>
Instead of TMs, they should have made it so that pokemon could learn moves they don't earn through level up by being on the same party as a pokemon that has that move by becoming friends or some shit. It would make your pokemon feel a lot more connected to each other, which is something the series has always lacked.
>>
Do you faggots ever use the anime general or is it beneath you to ask the general that is talking about the anime?

anime general is just a couple fags jerking off to eachother and posting screenshots of an episode, nothing to be gleaned
>>
>>59384654
What would TMs add? They just have the Pokemon learn those moves like any other move.
>>
>>59384900
I swear to god there's a gif from DP where ash (or whoever) just holds up a TM disc to a Shinx's forehead and it just sparkles and disappears
>>
>>59386706
wasnt that a meme that someone made?
>>

mudkip disk
>>
>>59384654
Because the ashnime is terrible
>>
>>59384654
because it's a stupid concept
>>
>>59384712
Yes the YouTube one that covers red and blue it's a disc and it shows a video or something like that
In my mind it connects to the pokeball or PC somehow since a disc is data and in universe they are stored as data.
I don't know if there's any canon things (games) that talk about it?
