>>59404175Although imo Darkrai and Arceus are two of the best among all mythicals, the quality of mythical Pokemon began to go downhill since gen 4 and hit rock bottom at gen 6. From there onwards, there are some hits and misses but the glory days of Mythical Pokemon are long gone.
>>59404175It's a tie between gen 3 and 4 for me. Gen 3 introduced a "cool" mythical with Deoxys, and it was a fucking great design. Jirachi kept the cute style, and stood out from its predecessors by having a really wild silhouette. With gen 4, we got two cool designs and three cute designs. The cute designs all do good at being cute while having recognizable silhouettes, and the cool designs have such a strong presence with their designs.The weakest is Gen VIII. Zarude is neither cool nor cute, and just looks out of place next to any pokemon. Even modern masterpieces like Diraludon look good when compared to Zarude.
Generation 6. Diancie is cute and Mega Diancie was a really cool mon for Smogon, good in both OU and Ubers alongside most Pet Mods. Hoopa (Unbound) has one of the coolest signature move animations and it was fun to see how it could break defensive cores in half with sheer attacking power. Volcanion has a Fire/Water typing and always have been decent without being overpowered. Yes, my experience with mythicals is largely affected by Pokémon Showdown because you don't have many opportunities to use them in-game. I used Diancie during Mega Dimension though, maybe the only opportunity to use a mythical in a game balanced around them.

mythicals were, for the most part, a mistake. Demoting most of them to regular legendaries, pseudo-legendaries, or regular mons would have been ideal.Only keep mew, deoxys, victini, diancie, and pecharunt, imo.
