I am back from watching a girl streaming Pokémon snap and she could name literally less than 10% of the Pokémon she came across.
I know nerds like you and me can name almost every Pokémon except maybe some shitmon middle stage,
But even the "I hecking love Pokémon" normoids who have a ton plushies barely know most Pokémon... and these people are the majority of fans.
>>
they experience it like a normal person watching a tv show, they are ancillary fans who probably have something else they are much bigger fans of. the problem is you're watching a streamer and assuming their streamer persona is reflective of their actual self. if you met a "normal" fan of pokemon with the level of merch a streamer has, they would probably live up to your expectations of knowledge of the series unless they were only obsessed with one gen or specific pokemon instead.
not to say all streamers/influencers are like this, lots of them started and probably still are super fans to some degree. actual autismos who segued into popularity are much less common and will normally announce how "accomplished" they are at being a pokemon fan in one way or another.
>>
>>59405211
>and these people are the majority of fans.
That's depressing if true
>>
>>59405211
They experience it by gauging it through its popularity in the current cultural moment and then participating in it via watching videos, playing the newest games, and buying merch. Beyond that they don't engage with it beyond surface level or just read wikis. Remember they also have to keep up with other normal stuff like the latest Netflix slop or cultural event like the World Cup so they can neatly disregard it until Pokemon is relevant again like when there's a new game. Just wait when Pokemon once afain declines in value as a cultural marker or whatever and they'll all just think of the time they were "fans" of Pokemon as a le quirky passing phase of their lives.
>>
>>59405211
Consoom product then move on to the next and don't you dare criticize them or Daddy Nintendo.
>>
>>59405321
normies don't even read wikis. they don't even google any questions they have about the game. they just wonder or forget about it or ask another person for some reason. what normies do is watch wolfe youtube videos and get all of their information from that.
>>
>>59405338
This, essentially. People are always looking for ways to assuage their boredom, and novel things tend to provide that. New Pokemon game? People will check it out. But don't expect them to stick around forever, once something newer shows up they'll flock to that instead.
>>
>>59405264
>if true
There are over 1000 Pokémon, do you really think normies know every one of the thousand of them?
I recall normies were already reaching breaking point by gen 4.
>>
>>59405444
>There are over 1000 Pokémon
Rookie numbers
>>
>>59405211
In the past, I spent way too much of my time and energy wondering how normies work, but all that did is make me look even weirder than I already am to them. Pokemon isn't a thing that's part of their lives, it's just something that exists in the world they occasionally engage with.

>I know nerds like you and me can name almost every Pokémon except maybe some shitmon middle stage
Loudred and Carkoal catching strays for no reason, damn
>>
>>59405444
Nigger normies can't even name 151, what are you even on about gen 4

That's because this is what normies mean when they say they like kanto

Normal people never gave a shit about 99% of the Pokemon so obviously they don't worth to remember.
The only thing even "hardcore" Pokemon fans know about gen5 for example is the two cumsluts.
>>
>>59405211
A lot of those people played like 1-2 pokemon games in their childhood, then moved on to other things in their lives and only returned because of Pokemon GO or the Switch era bringing mainline Pokemon to home consoles.

Years ago before it was released again I let my then gf play Leaf Green and was absolutly shocked that she didn’t know how to play or where to go and couldn’t find out where to go beyond pallet and needed to be told everything to do.

She eventually dropped it because she didn’t get it or know where to go and was just going between pallet and Viridian on her own

Normies are blisteringly stupid.
And the games cater to their stupidity now

Masuda saw shit like this and it's why they made the games more straightforward.

Basically what they said about pokemania

Women have smaller brains than men. Men can remember all the pokemon, all the type interactions, the complete details of each move, and can apply them in complex strategies.
This doesn't take effort, and every boy knows the base power of Shadow Ball and what its secondary effect is. Yet you'd be hard pressed to find one woman who has this mindset or could put together a functional team before giggling and giving up.

Bitch boy you don't get to be judgemental about other people and start your sentence with "I am back from watching a girl streaming"

You are worth absolute zero kill yourself

Think about it like this: that sport you know some teams but not the players. You kinda know who's good and some stars, that's how normoids experience Pokémon.
Now female streamers main appeal is their bodies, the games they play or whatever activities they do is an excuse to not sit silently for 2 hours.
>>
>>59405211
To be fair I can't name the pokemon from gen 8 or 9 either since I didn't play them (and don't plan to)

Unfortunately, I have reached a point where I can't name all the Pokémon, especially post-gen 6 Pokémon. I'm starting to relate to Abe Simpson more and more.

Homura is objectively the best girl. You cannot dispute this.

>How do normoids actually experience Pokémon?
Outside of playing the games and watching the anime most people just experience Pokemon though cultural osmosis. It's likely the same way our peers learn about Digimon, Palworld, etc. It's only the diehard fans who go out of their way to memorize every name, ability, competitive usage, etc.

Less than 2 months before Shitmura gets BTFO'd.
