Ash is an extremely boring and one-dimensional character that only someone with the mind of a child would care about.That being said, I do watch Horizons, but I'm not super invested. There's no way you can make him compelling without making him a completely different character, and his design is pretty fucking forgettable and even downright mediocre. If he wasn't the protagonist, no one would have given him a second glance.I'd only be interested in seeing a reboot of the anime if written right, but what would even be the point of that? Even if they rewrote Ash and made him a interesting character, there's no way they'd be able to cover his multi-region run without running into the same problems. His character arc realistically wraps around Johto, especially in a reboot where he'd predictably get his act together earlier. Anything beyond that would essentially be beating a dead horse.
