Base set 1st editions are relatively valuable, with even run-of-the-mill commons selling for $20+. Select commons are worth quite a bit more (pikachu and the starters most notably). 1st eds from jungle, fossil, all the way to neo, aren’t as absurdly expensive as base, but they’re still worth a decent chunk of change (commons and uncommons sell around 3-7 bucks), especially if you’ve got some 1st ed rares.

Shipping wasnt that much of a ball buster either, and I got my package sent to me by Fedex maybe 1 week after consolidation.TL;DR; Japanese Mercari/JAuction are great, but I would primarily only use them if you plan on hunting down alot of stuff, or if the thing youre hunting down still comes out to be considerably cheaper than if you got it here in the states.Their customer service was pretty decent too, which can be a rarity with such services.
