Playing through it right now. It’s great, but I’m a bit sad at how quickly I was able to blast thru kanto with mostly the same team I used in Johto.I raised a Houndoom but I almost think you’re supposed to replace your team with kanto natives in the second half of the game to get more longevity. 43 hours in and the only fight left is Red (and recurring fights like the rival battle and battle house). Game could have benefited from gym rematches and more fleshed out rematch calls. Also, Golem practically destroys the entire game so I reccomend holding off for a bit once you get Graveller (this probably goes for every trade evo.)Glitched catching makes team additions a chore and Johto pokemon should be a bit stronger for how rare they are. That said, it’s one of my favorite pokemon games because the vibes of gen 2 are just immaculate and were never surpassed.
