Although initially ridiculed for her rigid 3D model, a few artists managed to capture the charm of her design. It's a stylized design, but nearly impossible to replicate in a video game due to the movement of her fur and how light reflects off it, not to mention the challenge of understanding how her anatomy moves beneath all that fur (this is where 3D animators still struggle).I think Delphox's popularity began when she reached the mainstream and moved beyond the video game niche. She was the whole package: for furry and MILF fans, there was NSFW art; for waifu fans, there was wholesome art that attributed maternal and housewife traits to Delphox, unlike Braixen, who looks more like an immature teenager; and for a smaller niche, like fans of the esoteric, there were old-fashioned fairy tale illustrations or traditional art—a fox witch in the forest is the perfect subject for a piece of art.
