The problem is that the Totodile motif competes with the base design, and the default pose for it is distracting as fuck. Combine this with all of the other design frivolities (magically extending arms, retarded jaw hinge, additional bits and bobbles that make no sense on a form that’s only supposed to be for battling) and you get a design clusterfuck.
