Pokémon Go is still fun for me.The franchise is so massive, I doubt there will ever be nothing that interests me. I just had to make peace that the aspects of my childhood (tcg, the anime, the mainline games) have deteriorated beyond recognition

The only way to do that would be for everyone to close their fucking wallets and stop buying not only the games, but also the overpriced merch and cards. That's simply never going to happen. Plus even if it somehow did, we'd still have to hope that GF, TPC and Nintendo take the right lessons from it when they could just as easily decide that people just don't want Pokemon anymore and start folding up the tent.

Daily reminder that you don't actually like Pokemon anymore. You like the feeling of nostalgia it gives you. Pokemon reminds you of the peak of your life at childhood. A time where you didn't have responsibilities and your parents still had hope for you. A time when there wasn't a black president and you could say whatever you wanted without getting canceled. A time where you actually had friends who wanted to be around you as you weren't a lonely, bitter human being yet and your autism was just seen as cute. You want to go back in time just far enough where you could have MAYBE changed your life for the better if you made one or two decisions differently. Just take a second and compare your early 2000s self to what you are now. It explains everything. I know a few of y'all will cope with "muh society is collapsing", but this isn't the case at all. YOU'RE the thing that is collapsing. Most of you have no marketable skills, have no meaningful investments and call memecoins your "investment". You're ugly and have not worked on any of your social skills. You can pretend your inherent failure is due to an implausible roundtable of wealthy Jewish people...or whatever boogeyman scapegoat you've picked this time, but it's your fault. Once or twice a year I watch the early movies, and sometimes I get YouTube shorts now and then. And I listen to the movie soundtracks and game soundtracks. It’s dead for me and that’s ok. And of course I come to /vp/ occasionally and by some stroke of luck caught the typhlosiongate or whatever we called it and promptly laughed my ass off.
