You will decrease your ELO, so it's indeed worth it. Picrel (the strat you talk about) shows you the fastest way to reach rank 20, but you could just tank your ELO any time you want by losing a bunch of times (it won't make you reach rank 20 faster, but it will put you up against easier opponents).

It's not. It's quite literally the fastest way to reach rank 20 with a low ELO, period. Can be used at any point in a season. In fact, it's "easier" to follow the guide when the season is starting, because there are hundreds of other people following similar pics, so it's not uncommon for someone to surrender faster than you every so often.

Depends on how much effort you want to put in and how active your local community is/how willing you are to engage with them. If you've got an active community of all three teams in your local area and you're fine trading with randos on community days, making a second account probably isn't worth the effort. If you're the only player around for 50km and you only have access to one gym, an alt is kinda necessary id you want to do anything.

IVs matter if you want to get really invested in PvP. That's about it.
In PvE, a 0/0/0 mon tends to be about 10 percent less performance than 15/15/15 mons, and its even less impactful with legendaries because of how high their base stats are to begin with. Perfect IVs might shave five or ten seconds off of a three minute raid if you're soloing them.

Shadow Claw Metagross honestly feels like it's cheating in Master League Premier. Most of what I see people switch to answer mine (Garchomp, Hydreigon, Skeledirge) legitimately just suck so much ass you're better off just trading your Metagross for my Metagross. Golisopod and Gyarados feel like the only two that can actually accomplish something.

For Force Palm? Yeah, I guess. But I wouldn't sweat it if you want to evolve it early. Elite Fast TMs are a dime a dozen. There's nothing really to use it on other than Lucario. A good Shadow Zapdos maybe. Counter Mega Mewtwo X and Smack Down Tyranitar is okay.
Just make sure to teach Riolu a second move as a Riolu. Goes from 10k/25 Candy to 75k/75 Candy when you evolve it.

I've got a pretty good Cinderace DMax for the raid tomorrow. Today a Rookidee, Chansey, and Beldum spawned nearby.
Obviously the first two would be great tanks for the raid, so I wanna add them to my roster, but should I invest my max energy into catching the Beldum, or use it to level up their Tank/Heal moves instead?

Don't worry too much about investment now, since your particles are need for both participating in the battles, or for powering up new max Pokémon.

If you have a raid hot-spot you can go to and there's a big enough turn out for a Gmax raid (lobby size 100), you shouldn't need to build too strong of a team to still be able to contribute.

If you have Crowned Zacian / Crowned Zamazenta / Eternatus, they're all good picks too. They're all strong attackers with great resistances against Rillaboom's movepool (except Earth Power).
With Zamazenta on special tank duty since it has the best shields in the game.

Of the nearby spawns, Chansey is probably the best long-term investment since it is globally useful in team max battles.
You can always be the one guy on healing duty with Blissey when playing with randos, players that don't understand the battle format and bring any shit in, and do shit like run their glass cannon attackers outside of the max round or use shields on non-tanks.
Dmax Metagross is good too and unlike raid battles, isn't reliant on knowing Meteor Mash to perform well, and can run non-steel type moves.
Corviknight's role is more of a tank, and Gmax Corviknight has yet to debut so I wouldn't worry about the Rookidee so much.

If you want to maximise the number of Gmax Rillaboom battles you can do tomorrow, pay attention to your max particles as you battle and power up stuff today, and try to finish with >1500 particles by claiming a 300 particle walk reward when you're as close to 1490 as possible.
Keeping in mind that you'll be able to earn more particles than normal tomorrow, with 600 particles for walking 0.5km, and 820 particles for interacting with any power spot.
Since you can collect 1600 particles for free tomorrow, the strategy is as follows:
>Claim 200 walking particles after midnight (this sets up the 0.5km for 600 particle reward)
>Make sure to claim the 600 particle walking reward before interacting with two different power spots

>Can finish with fourth and fifth Gmax battles for free

I also have 500 unclaimed max particles from July's Go Pass, but 500 won't let me do any extra battles this weekend, so they are probably best saved for Max Monday on August 3rd instead.
Remember that you can claim Go Pass particles when you are at storage or daily collection capacity.

You definitely need to get that Dmax Blissey up and running then, so you can be on healer duty for every relevant team max battle.
GMax Corviknight iirc is ironically a worse flying type attacker than Unfezant.

Catching at least one GMax Rillaboom should be enough yes, but don't forget that winning max battles also rewards you trainer XP, items, and Pokémon candies. You're also not guaranteed to actually catch the Rillaboom if you win the battle.

Here's a tip, Crowned Zacian and Crowned Zamazenta can be traded to other players. If you have a lucky trade with someone, and they have crowned dogs to spare, they can trade one to you.
It comes at their expense though, because they have to spend their own crowned energy to give you an unlocked crowned doggo.
When trading, they have to trade you the uncrowned form, but you'll be able to re-crown it for free afterwards because the unlock is permanent on the individual doggo.
It's an extremely convenient catch-up trick for players behind on PvE.

You should also keep an eye out for Dmax Drilbur. Excadrill is an extremely effective max battler, a good one can solo a 4 star Dmax Toxtricity!

There probably are bots farming legendaries that need special energy for their most powerful forms, like Necrozma, Kyurem, Zacian, and Zamazenta.
The dogs are unique though in that their most powerful forms (or access to them) can be traded, and don't need an additional fusion Pokémon.

I don't believe remote trade lists show if their crowned forms are unlocked however, so it's best to do that kind of trade in person with someone that can actually prove it's been unlocked.
Otherwise if you have no crown energy, you may have a good doggo that can't be crowned.

You really can't go wrong with it. The free shield is so powerful that mindlessly tapping with it can get you pretty far.
The main thing to keep in mind is that Mimikyu basically forces you to use a shield against the first charge attack it takes. Perfectly fine against most of the meta, but things like Swift Wigglytuff, Air Cutter Corviknight, and Sand Tomb Forretress take full advantage of that by forcing you to use a shield
Leads fine. Unless they're prepped specifically for Mimikyu, you basically will always win the lead match up and gain momentum that way. Personally, I like to have it backline though. Any hard switch they make to a mon that has expensive charge moves (Registeel, Grumpig, Altaria, Clodsire, Azumarill) basically wins you the match on that interaction alone.

I've been preferring Master League Premiere this week, with Shadow Metagross / Annihilape / Florges. I do Master League during the triple open leagues to farm, so it's been a hot sec since I used it.
Though, like last month, Lickilicky / Mimikyu / Foretress was the great league team. Having everything capable of 1v1ing Mimikyu is the main consideration on my team, and stomping the lead match-up is more satisfying when they do everything they can to try and protect it thinking it'll be their ace.
Back line Diggersby fucks the team hard though, and I often just trade the Lickilicky in the mirror match up hoping it was their only Mimkyu answer

How much I care about the finale thing is directly related to how many free passes we get

If you're doing gmax that has a chance of failing (like this one due to good coverage), you NEED to use an alt to invite yourself to a raid from an alt. If you fail, you can retry it for free and hope for less coverage moves. Rilla gets EP and everyone is using the dogs from gofest, I assume, so they'll get smoked while corv and zard are weaker than you'd imagine as tanks. Blissey is the way to go, unsurprisingly.
Send an alt to central park and just retry one spot until you get it.

Why do people remote to these things? I just hosted a Giganta Rillaboom with 21 people which failed, and it dawned on me just how there's 20 people for every 1 host doing a raid that is available basically everywhere using a remote pass to have a chance to catch a not-new pokemon.
Why would anyone even bother with remotes on this thing? Not that Im complaining, Giganta forms would be literately impossible without them, but its wild to me just how many of these people there are.

If you constantly mega-evolve Lucario for Rocket grunts it's probably better for that (definitely better in raids), but Conkeldurr is just generally more useful for grunts and leaders. Even if you don't have a lot of Timburr candy XL, lvl. 50 Lucario has the same attack stat as a lvl. 45.5 Conkeldurr with the same IVs, and Conkeldurr still outclasses it in defense and HP. At max level, Conkeldurr will have roughly 50 more HP than Lucario and 12 more defense, which matters a lot for a battle mode designed to throw overpowered Pokémon at you to force you to use all 3 of your Pokémon. Lucario is nice if you can snowball into multiple Power-up Punches, but if it can't, there's not much reason to use it over Conkeldurr unless you lack the resources.

Lucario is definitely not bad, I just think Conkeldurr's better.

Are the catch rates on GMax mons normally this bad? We constantly had people getting left behind in my raid group because of how long these fuckers took to catch. The only other GMax event I've done was the KANTOOOO one and I swear it wasn't like this.

Speed is pretty much the only thing that matters in Rocket Battles.
Shadow Conk is stronger, is bulky enough to survive the encounter (which is just as good as infinite defense and resistances), doesn't have to waste time with PuP, and can have two strong-ish attacks with Dynamic Punch and Brutal Swing instead of splitting the difference and choosing between PuP / Aura Sphere / Shadow Ball.
Terrakion is fine, it's just Double Kick is such a weak quick move that you often spend a lotta time spamming the Sacred Sword.

Alright here we go: if the Pokémon was sent to your Home directly (and so it has your Home ID), the restriction applies, unless the game you're trying to send to already registered the same species. But if the Pokémon was sent to another Home account and then traded to you, the restriction is gone.
Which means that you can send any Groudon into your SV, even ones from pogo from anyone else on the planet except for the one you sent to your own Home.
Which means that if you have another Home account, send it there and trade it to your main Home account, the Pokémon will always be unlocked for all games.
This is my preferred way of transferring mythicals and shiny legends, that is future proof and it still applies my name (that I have on my 2nd Home account) to all the Pokémon..

Another way is having a tab of legends from another source or traded from someone else to first send to a game to "unlock" it, but it's extra space taken for what I call "keys"
