Not quite sure what happened to knock us off the board so quickly, but we're back.

It's looking a little rough, not gonna lie. Jupiter and that Skuntank of hers are pretty common to lose someone at, but Fantina is a challenge even in the best conditions.
>>
I wiped to a Cubone because the Wooper I hatched was under-leveled and Flaafy got Cubone to 1 HP before dying. I did multiple attempts but my most recent one just ended:
>encounter bellsprout
>totodile attacks to weak it (it's my first encounter)
>vine whip does over half of toto's health
>WHAT?!
>switch out to spearow with yellow HP
>spearow will be sa— *dies to critical hit*

yeah, that was weird. I posted multiple times right before it happened too.

Today has been difficult for my HeartGold nuzlocke but I did fine I guess.

My current team:

>Bayleef
>Geodude
>Flaaffy
>Machop
>Fearow
>Zubat

Pokemon in the box:

>Ratatta
>another Ratatta
>another Spearow
>another Zubat
>an Egg

Pokemon in the daycare:

>Eevee

Pokemon that are dead:

>Drowzee
>Spearow

I unfortunately lost a Drowzee that I just caught and I did lose my main Spearow but I did immediately replace it with a higher level Spearow named Kenya from an NPC and I also took my Zubat out of the daycare.

As for the Goldenrod gym battle against Whitney, she was easy, Machop handled her Clefairy with one hit and did take a few Stomps from Miltank but Machop won.

Any advice for the next gym leader Morty? I have two pokemon that know Dark type moves but will it be enough?
>>
>>59478758
Fearow using dark-type moves is a waste of time. You’re better off using a good STAB move against Morty. Don’t forget to equip a Chesto Berry to the guy who will fight Morty before the fight, if you have one.

Doing a my first ever playthrough of Sword blind as a nuzlocke with some extra flair to make up for the difficulty hole the new games make.

>Classic Nuzlocke Rules
>Randomized Encounter Pokemon (only NU and lower for Gen 8)
>Can grant 1 egg move on capture
>Randomized Abilities
>Hard level cap to 1 level below Gym's ace.
>Only dynamaxing when dynamaxed against

Made it through the first 3 gyms with a pretty good pace. Evolved my Eevee into an Espeon instantly with happiness running, Ralts into a Gallade with Dawn Stone from dugging bros, Nuzleaf into Shiftry with the field leaf stone. With it being randomized abilities, I've gotten some actual killer builds

>Fur Coat Lickilicky
Tanks so much fucking damage and heals off with leftovers
>Super Luck Galarian Rapidash
Autocrits on Psycho Cut and Drill Run. 50% chance on Play Rough and Double Kick.
>Grassy Surge Shiftry + Miracle Seed
He already works as a ghetto Rillaboom with grassy glide and sucker punch, but his hidden trait is in his mixed attacking stats. Slap STAB Leaf Storm on him and he has 300 base power nuke that melts things 8 levels above him.
>Cheek Pouch Regirock
Reliable recovery on a Regi is insane. Mix that with the immediate access to Body press because of TRs and hes a menace.

Had two deaths so far, one accidental, one complete RNG. I accidently triggered the Hammerlocke battle cafe not knowing that it was a double battle with mon even higher than the 4th gym level cap at 37 while most of my mon were only 30. To survive, I had to sack Accelgor to keep Regirock alive who endured a lot thanks to cheek pouch.

Then some random trainer with clefable rolled shell smash and then Rock Wrecker.

the other random ability mon I have are:
>Perish Body Pinsir
>Intrepid Sword Gallade
>Thick Fat Manectric
>Berserk Eldegoss
>Swift Swim Wailmer
>Steelworker Skorupi
>Aerilate Cradily

I think Rapidash and Gallade should make easy work of Bea.
>>
>>59479049
What about Golbat then?
>>
>>59478758
I think a dark move (pursuit im guessing) on Fearow is fine. As long as the two other ghosts are down, Fearow stalls out Gengar's sucker punches. Swap stall if you need to. After the pp runs out, let Fearow kill him. I think the other two ghosts have something like curse or maybe mean look (don't remember), so maybe look into that
>>
>>59479884
Wait how those Sucker Punch work? Those it not land if you don't attack?
>>
>>59479993
correct: Sucker Punch has priority and fails if the opponent doesn't choose an attack
>>
>>59480015
How many times can Sucker Punch be used? And is it only his Gengar that has it? I do remember two of his pokemon cannot harm nornal types but that's not his Gengar.
>>
>>59480256
I can't remember. you'll have to look it up. Gengar has Hypnosis and Dream Eater iirc.
>>
Is BW any good for a nuzlocke? I've never done a nuzlocke but I was reading up on it and it sounded fun, especially if I stuck to the level caps and boxed my starter.
>>
>>59480277
level caps are a bad idea if you've never done a nuzlocke before
>>
>>59480256
His second Haunter at level 23 has Sucker Punch as well, and it has five uses. Gengar only has Hypnosis, his first Haunter has it and Dream Eater too.
>>59480277
Yes, though for a first tun i would consider easing myself into the harder rules. Build up to level caps instead of cranking it up to 11. BW are already decently difficult for a Nuzlocke as is.
>>
>>59480282
>>59480313
How hard could level caps be? I mean otherwise I can just grind the fuck out of one Pokemon and steamroll no?
>>
>>59480346
gen 5 grants less EXP if you're over-leveled
>>
>>59480346
They're over exaggerating. BW is not that hard to warrant ignoring level caps.
>>
>>59480353
>>59480354
Thanks for the info. Should I do the dupe clause or nah? I just started the game. The dupe clause seems like it lets you game the system a lot.
>>
>>59480396
I think dupes clause is good but it’s 100% your choice.
>>
>>59480396
Personally would lose interest fast in a Nuzlocke if dupes clause wasn’t a thing since the regional bird/mammal are so common. DC is especially good here in BW1 since it’s just the Unova Dex which gets even smaller when you consider evolutions, version exclusives, and more.
>>
>modest Stoutland
Thanks game...
>>
Pansear swept me, I guess this game is grinding heavy.
>>
>>59480396
Dupes clause only lets you game the system if you know how to. To give it an example, you have to know how to game encounters to get guaranteed Gible in Wayward Cave, but you can still fail through encounter rng.
>>59481490
Only the very beginning, heck it might even be anti-grind with the exp system. I think the first gym was designed with new players learning about type advantage to trump level difference in mind.
>>
>>59481539
I didn't know which mon came out first and lillipup raped my panpour with a crit

Tonight has gone great for my HeartGold nuzlocke. I'm winning.

My current team is this:

>Bayleef
>Ampharos
>Geodude
>Fearow
>Machop
>Golbat

Pokemon in PC:

>Egg
>Spearow
>Zubat

>Magnemite

>Tentacruel

Pokemon at daycare:

>Eevee
>Ratatta

Dead pokemon:

>Drowzee
>Spearow

I was really stressed out about the Ecruteak gym leader Morty but I won. Here's how the battle went.

I just beat the gym leader of Ecruteak City Morty and it was stressful, so Fearow took out his Ghastly and then his first Haunter with Pursuit, his Haunter did use Curse so I sent out Ratatta against his Gengar to get rid of Fearows Curse and heal it. However his Gengar used Mean Look meaning Ratatta could not escape and this was the first Ratatta I caught so it was low level and did not know Bite so it could do no damage whatsoever, i did used Tail Whip to lower Gengars defense and eventually Gengar ran out of moves and killed Ratatta with Struggle, I used the wrong Rat but it's fine, Fearow went up against his final Haunter who used Curse and I switched to Golbat to use Bite to finish it off. That battle was stressful but I won.

I'm currently at Cianwood Town. Any advice for the gym leader Chuck?
>>
>>59482431
Gengar doesn't have Hypnosis and Dream Eater? that's really weird. maybe it's GSC only. also, I think you're Golbat can solo Chuck's gym with Wing Attack spam. just make sure it's holding the Sooth Bell.

Continuing My NU Randomizer + Random Ability Run. Got to Circhester, but had quite a few losses along the way.

Bea was a non-issue. Auto-crit Galarian Rapidash made her entire team a non-issue and her G-max Machamp kept spamming Chi-strike despite it being 4x resisted while I chipped him to death with psycho cut crits without even needing to dynamax.

Fast forward to Ballonlea, and I didn't realize that you couldn't use the PC box after entering a gym. I hard a horribly optimized and underlevel team to face the fairy Ballonlea gym. Steelworker + Hone Claws Skorupi with Iron Tail carried hard through the trainers, but then we got to Opal

I lead with Craydily Leech Seed and chipped Wheezing to death, then came her Togekiss. I switched to Manectric and then got my stats dropped by her bullshit questions. Togekiss survived a thunderbolt with 1 HP, so I had to switch to eldgoss who tanked a ancient power and then switched back to Manetric with fresh stats. Got stat dropped by her bullshit questions again but managed to OHKO her Mawile thanks to a crit flamethrower. Then came G-Max Alcremie. With G-max Finale healing and its massive health, I had no choice but to sack Manetric and Cradliy to waste the turns as I didn't think eldgoss or Skorupi could survive either.
Finally Magmortar came in, dynamaxed, and finished the job, but the game wanted blood.

I got through Route 7 fine until a double battle. I had espeon and Magmortar, it was against a Hipowdon and an Excadrill. I didn't consider Sand Rush and thought I could OHKO excadrill with flamethrower, but it outspeed and used Dig. Then the Hipowdon used Sand Tomb, sealing Magmortar's fate. STAB Dig took his life.

Now I've got a few pokemon in the box that might help with the rock gym:
>Sap Sipper Poliwrath
>Swift Swim Wailord
>Rivalry Clawitzer
>Volt Absorb Jellicent (over level cap, can't use for now)

Didn't take on gym leader Chuck today as I felt like I wasn't prepared so all I did was grind and a few things.

My current team is this:

>Bayleef
>Graveler
>Machoke
>Ampharos
>Golbat
>Fearow

I don't feel like mentioning the other pokemon but I will mention some new pokemon I got. I was given a free Shuckle, caught the Red Gyarados at the Lake of Rage and caught a Natu at the Ruins of Alph. I also dealt with Team Rocket at there hideout because of how easy it is.

I'm now ready to take on Chuck. What advice can any of you offer?

Look up which of your pokes can survive one hit by Chuck's pokes and if they outspeed. Choice scarf/choice specs on Magical leaf Bayleef or thunderwave/discharge ampharos. If they don't outspeed, chestro for hypnosis.

Why is graveler in this fight? Sacrifice for a pivot?
>>
>>59485116
No I'm not gonna use Graveler, she's just on the team. I'm gonna use the two flying types and my grass and electric type. Mabye I might add the Red Gyarados to the team.

It's really up to you, the inner and outer sections of grass have distinct enough encounters that some people count them as two.
>>59486553
They at least give you a good check against Lenora if you didn't pick Tepig, but yeah they're pretty good.
>>
>>59486622
Sawk has 125 base attack and 80 base speed, with sturdy. So I can put him out there and blast out huge hits and not worry about getting sniped by anything weird.
>>
Retaliate sucks, little Watchog fucker killed my Drilbur
>>
>>59486653
that's why Roggenrola is the best Wellspring Cave encounter
>>
>>59486705
I'm basically playing this game blind remembering from when it actually came out and I played it regularly. I keep getting fucked over by this being the first game where gyms have gimmicks and not knowing where the 1000 rival battles will pop up. I've got more dead Pokemon than live ones right now.
>>
>>59486778
I wasn't trying to scold you. I'm just saying that a lot of people go for Drilbur in Wellspring Cave because Excadrill is good, but Dribur is not Excadril. I made this mistake in my earliest White Nuzlocke attempts. you have to invest a LOT in a Wellspring Cave Drilbur before it becomes Excadril when Roggenrola can solo Lenora's gym. but Roggenrola is only a 50% encounter rate and Woobat, while not completely awful, isn't useful for Lenora and mixed with Burgh.

despite all the casualties you've faced, the odds of you finishing this attempt isn't 0%. your run is far from over. even if you think you have no chance of winning: you should see the run to the end of the official wipe. the farther into the game you get, the more you learn, and the more you learn, the more consistent your runs will be. in my black 2 nuzlocke, I had lost many of my crucial members and had no plan for the champion. I just continued playing to see how far I could go and I beat it on that attempt.
>>
>>59486802
I've definitely learned a lot. Next run I probably won't pick Tepig, he's great but there's plenty of good fighting types and darmanitan for fire types.

Tonight has gone great, I beat 3 gym leaders in a row and dealt with Team Rocket.

Here is my team.

>Red Gyarados
>Ampharos
>Crobat
>Graveler
>Machoke
>Fearow

I beat the gym leader of Cianwood City Chuck and he was easier than expected. He didn't even use Focus Punch and Golbat took out his Primeape with Wing Attack while Bayleef used Magical Leaf against his Poliwrath. That's probably the most useful Bayleef will ever be.

I beat the gym leader of Mahogany Town Pryce. Ampharos took out Seel with one Thunder Punch, Machoke did alot of damage to Piloswine with Low Kick but Blizzard nearly killed Machoke so I sent out Red Gyarados, healed Machoke and then killed Piloswine with Surf, finally Machoke took an Aurora Beam from Dewgong which helped with using a powerful Revenge and winning the battle.

I beat the gym leader of Olivine City Jasmine. Graveler took out both her two Magnemites with Magnitude and they did fuck all. I was hoping Low Kick would instantly kill Steelix but it didn't and Iron Tail nearly killed Machoke so I did the sensible thing and had Red Gyarados beat Steelix with Surf.

I've decided to take Bayleef off the team and add the Red Gyarados. Any advice for Clair?

Jokes on you, Clawitzer being female actually made it have a 25% boost throughout the entirety of Raihan's gym which is male, it was actually clutch.

>>59484216
Continuing My NU Randomizer + Random Ability Run, got through the Circhester Rock Gym and Spikemuth Dark gym relatively easily.

Grassy Surge Shiftry cleaned through his first 3 mon and then Poliwrath switched in to counter Dynamax Coalossal for the 2HKO.

Hop rematch was a breeze, Fur Coat Lickilicky walled his entire team except for inteleon who spooked me with a crit snipe shot, but Shiftry Grassy glide his ass with the OHKO.

Pier was a breeze. Galarian Rapidash deleted Scarfty and Malamar with Play Rough, then auto-crit skuntank with Drill Run. However I didn't have any proper special attackers to deal with obstagoon, so I switched in Perish Body Pinsir and ran out the clock switching so I wouldn't risk getting defense dropped from Obstruct or killed by counter.

Finally Hammerlocke's Dragon-Weather-Doubles battles. I had to craft my team extremely well to endure the onslaught of back-to-back matches from the trainers.

Misty Surge from Lapras let me run Fairy-Terrain Pulse on Clawitzer to OHKO the dragons while Lapras cleaned up the rest.

Then Raihan. I lead with Eldegoss and Choice Scarf Clawitzer. Deleted Flygon with ice beam while eldegoss charmed Gigalith. Then when Sandaconda came out, I switched clawitzer with Lapras to get Misty Terrain up to block Glare while Eldegoss charmed Sanda. Lapras tanked a body press while 2 more layers of charm were put on Sandaconda. Finally lapras/Eldegoss took out Gigalith, setting the stage for Gigantamax Duraudon.

Switched Lapras for Galarian Rapidash to tank the max-knuckle, Eldegoss synthesis heals. Then switch Centiskorch to tank the Max-Steelspike while eldgoss charms. Finally switched to Fur Coat Lickilicky to tank the Max Rockfall while Eldegoss charms again.

Lickilicky then Max-knuckled Duraludon to death.

Alright, in preparation for the champion's cup and Eternatus, I went back and caught every wild area I hadn't hit yet. Heres my haul:

>Gluttony Octillery
>Overcoat Vikavolt
>Parental Bond Heatmor
>No Guard Jigglypuff
>Honey Gather Boltund
>Simple Hitmonchan

You look at some of these and think their abilities might be broken, but I think I just made a breakthrough in Sword/Shield nuzlocking.

BOLTUND IS FUCKING BROKEN
>121 Base Speed
>Eerie Impulse
>Charm
>Nuzzle

Because of these traits, Boltund can completely invalidate any opponent after you arrive in Wyndon to get the Eerie Impulse TM. It works like this:
>-6 Attacking stat of first mon
>Nuzzle them for Para
>Switch to boost sweeper
>Clean entire team
Not a single team has a ground type special attacking lead, so this works on everyone after getting to Wyndon

Cleared Marnie and Hop at the cup like they weren't even a threat thanks to Boltund + Simple Hitmonchan boost sweeping.

Should this strat be illegal? I've never seen it discussed but it seems 100% fullproof.
>>
>>59488512
Don't crits ignore attack down? It feels like a small bit real risk
>>
>>59487030
I didn't have a lot of luck, I ran into Cheren on Route 4 and my team wasn't at full strength, took a few crits and game over.

So I restarted and I'm back stronger than before, about to grab a someone outside Pinwheel Forest. I got way less lucky with natures this time but overall I feel like I've had solid luck in my encounters and I'm feeling way more positive and engaged.
>>
>>59488775
Okay so flawed gameplan here, everything on my team was weak to fighting or was blitzle with paper defenses. I fucked up outside Pinwheel by forgetting to use a repel while checking shaking grass for Throh, but I ran into Sawk instead. Sawk annihilated my Patrat and I feel like it was extreme luck that was all I lost here. Trading Patrat for Sawk does feel like a really good trade but Lenora is a little bit less of a sure thing. Probably Rogenrolla can tank Retaliate and I'll be fine.
>>

>>59488683
yes crits do break through it, but the enemy rolling it 4.17% chances twice to be able to KO something would be miniscule at -6.

Its made even worse because of my "1 egg move" rule which can stack accuracy drops on top of the offensive drops and 50/50 para chance.

I'm genuinely conflicted how to continue. On one hand this is bringing one of the worst mons into being one of the most broken in nuzlocking ever due to how the AI never switches out, but on the other, it feels almost like cheating knowing I have 2.08% chance of the enemy pokemon being able to even damage my set-up mon.

And I can customize for the starter mon in question between
>Swords Dance + Agility Gallade (intrepid sword)
>Rapid Spin + Power-Up Punch Hitmonchan (Simple)
>Swords Dance Assault vest Licklicky (Fur Coat)
>Swords Dance Shiftry (Grassy Surge)
>Dragon Dance Lapras (Misty Surge)
>Calm Mind Espeon (Queenly Majesty)
>Calm Mind Oranguru (Ice Scales)

Is Boltund so broken that I should ban it the rest of the run or revel in a shitmon breaking the game in my favor?

I never imagined pic related with fucking Honey Gather as its ability would be the most busted thing in a nuzlocke with random abilities (even though the mon are restricted to NU and lower)

I've still got the isle of armor and Crown tundra to go after the main game, but I'm wondering if Boltund will make all battles a non-issue.

Hey guys. No updates tonight because I've been visiting some people in Liverpool.

Any advice for Clair?
>>
>>59490009
Confuse Ray from Crobat on Claire's Gyarados, switch to Graveler, use defense curl then rollout and pray. Every good counter to Kingdra is after Kingdra.
>>
>>59490009
Clair’s team is mostly special but some moves are physical. The two Dragonairs have shed skin, so status moves like thunder wave are pointless on her. My lantern had enough bulk to kill Intimidate Gyarados easy with 4x effective Discharge, but with Dragonair I needed something else with an ice move. Unless your red Gyarados is special, I’d choose something like ice fang over dragon pulse. The Dragonairs have thunder wave too so berry right.

Man wtf did I do for sitrus Sniper Kingdra? I think I used an Amnesia Corsola lool. Look up if Dragon Pulse on Gyarados would even dent her monster of a Kingdra.

Your ampharos ideally OHKO blue Gyarados after former gets hit once (choice spec or magnet if u think not enough).
Your graveler will do nothing but die so Bayleef here is I guess better, but if it goes into the fire blast dragonair instead of the aqua tail one, it’s gonna die :/
Red Gyarados is the most bulky on ur team, but can do 3 roles? Crobat, Machoke, and Fearow need to do some work here. Confuse ray might be fun. My guess is that since Ampharos has better special def, they’ll bring out physical aqua tail Dragonair after, maybe?? Don’t quote me on that. You cooould try to thunder wave and hope it helps a swap before a shed skin but ehhh. Maybe Charge on Ampharos, but when does it have time to set up?

Don’t have good answers here. Do some thinking before u fight. Could synthesis+light screen, base-80 special def bayleef help out at all? Is this where u choose an Eevee-lotion? I dunno

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely try it later if I'm still awake when I get home.

I've been out all night.

that's Whitney down

Morty is next
>>
>>59488512
That does sound busted, on top of getting fully evolved starter right at the start of the game.
>>
>>59486624
Sawk is definitely mvp material, it was already the mvp of someone's run not that long ago.
>>
>>59491645
I basically already whiffed this run, I'm down to literally just Sawk left. I think realistically I should start with an easier game. Because I'm getting the piss beat out of me
>>
>>59491703
gen 5's early-game is brootal. it's not so bad after that.
>>
>>59491712
I just started spiraling after Leavanny crit killed a couple mons with Razor Leaf, then a little while after Bianca's Herdier sniped out another one with a crit Take Down. I know the answer is to expect crits and I'm fine with that but damn I'm getting murdered out here. Pokemon have 50 power Tackles right at the start of the game and a lot of these mons have better moves soon after, damage is just really high. I know that cuts both ways but I'm struggling to adjust. I'm gonna try Soul Silver instead I think, I'm gonna roll for a shiny starter and whatever one comes up shiny first will be my pick and we'll go from there.
>>
>>59491725
>shiny starter
...you're gonna reroll thousands of times?
>>
>>59491121
Starter Lickatung evolving at level 6 was insane. I always remembered it not getting rollout until level 33 but for some reason its level 6 in Sword/Shield. Lucky me + Fur Coat which works insanely with Lickilicky's stat distribution. Its bulkier than Mega Aggron on the physical side.

Also I wonder if nobody noticed how broken Boltund is in the late game when its gets Eerie Impulse because their Boltund probably died in the early game before they could realize it as the ultimate lead debuffer.
>>
I technically won but lost Quagsire. Gengar nailed a 10% Shadow Ball special defense drop so Quagsire got 2-shotted. I couldn’t switch out because of Mean Look. I invested too heavily into him to go on (plus I don’t have an answer for the other Gym Leaders now) so I’m quitting at Morty. Quagsire was Lv. 29, Ampharos was Lv. 30.
>>
>>59491865
Maybe? I don't mind shiny hunting anyway but hgss is by far the easiest game to hunt because you check 3 starters at once and it takes like 20 seconds. I'll probably be ready to go tonight or tomorrow.
>>
>>59490278
>cutie!
>>59492291
According to kinglercalc, Morty 3 shots lev 29 Quagsire pretty much normally except like alsolute rare worst case. You said he did mean look, but that’s still 3 hits with that sp def drop right? Ground and normal don’t work on levitate gengar, so what move did you use? Surf from ecruteak surely 2HKO if quagsire is reasonably strong enough (at least like 48 sp atk), and even luck is on your side if not. I couldn’t imagine using water gun on Morty’s gengar, tf

I think a sitrus berry with amnesia first would’ve been better planning. Just rock smash and reset that rock in violet city until u get a yellow shard. Unless you job Morty’s gengar with any normal type, it’s a pretty dangerous poke, imo worse than Whitney

Sorry for the loss
>>
>>59492430
*I mean just bike away into a new route then back into town to respawn the rock to smash

I think turn 1 Surf got Gengar to Yellow but Sitrus Berry pushed Gengar back to about 75% health (Gengar used Mean Look on turn 1). Gengar got the Special Defense drop turn 2 Shadow Ball and turn 3 Quagsire was killed by another Shadow Ball. I forget if there were any critical hits. I didn’t think to farm berries, that’s a good idea! you’re right, Sitrus Berry + turn 1 Amnesia would have saved me from losing Quagsire like that.

Today in my HeartGold nuzlocke, I finally beat the gym leader of Blackthorn City Clair.

Here is my current team:

>Red Gyarados
>Crobat
>Ampharos
>Fearow
>Machoke
>Graveler

Here's how I beat Clair. Ampharos took put her Gyarados with no issue using Thunder Punch and my Red Gyarados took out both her Dragonairs with Ice Fang but her Kingdra was difficult, I had to keep healing Gyarados but eventually I just used Dragon Rage enough times until her Kingdra was dead. Final gym battle won. The battle was hard but I won.

Anyway do you have any advice for the Kimono girls?
>>
>>59492540
Oh right, he got sitrus too so you'd need to 3 shot him, not two. I'm not pulling up calc rn, but I guess if he took 4 moves to kill when you also need 4 moves to kill, he outspeeds, so you would've had to see if it was 4 moves or 5 for him. I wonder if two amnesias were necessary, but wtv. Wish you luck on the next one.

a shiny in 300 rolls is like 10% odds, and you got it in less so that's probably single digit odds. nice job.

He's not opposed to rare candies, but doesn't use hold items which is odd as hell.

His decision making sucks. He doesn't let his pokemon share any work, esp with trash, undiverse movesets.
After a rare candy, Flamethrower was allowed to replace a move in his current moveset of Fire Blast AND Fire Fang, Bite AND Feint Attack??? First off, wtf is this trash moveset. But then he replaces Fire Fang, with Flamethrower??? What the hell is the point of having both special Flamethrower and Fire Blast? He doesn't even use Flamethrower either. Was he really expecting to hit like all 6 Fire Blasts? That's like a 62% chance, wtf. He didn't even have Dark Pulse! Why not Embargo on these healing Elite Four bitches? He didn't have a grass move for Whiscash, he had two water and two normal moves for Biberal, and he was hoping that Biberal would sweep the battle? What was he even gonna do for Milotic? He's also hoping that Houndoom basically sweeps cause he swaps back into it for Drapion instead of just letting Steelix take it - tf why?
Umbreon has Feint Attack, Bite, AND Assurance. Why does Steelix have Dragonbreath? Who does that even hurt? Chimeco has Extrasensory AND confusion??? With Healbell AND SAFEGAURD! Bruh, choose one! He doesn't even use healbell, opting for bag items to heal instead. What's the point?
He was utterly doomed to not make it far.

>how does he fix
Get some damn diversity. He had a whopping 4 moves for the Psychic battle, with 3 of them dark; too bad that's the 4th battle, not 1st. Get some damn water moves, a grass move, holy fuck he didn't even have a ground move? He was hoping Biberal was gonna sweep the Ground and Fire battles, loooool. I haven't seen the rest of his videos, was his goal just to use Steel and Dark, plus a Biberal and Giratina? Unless he was going for a gimmick, he plays like southern hick with an internal hatred against diversity and loves big business taking all the work.

Funny to watch though, at least
>>
>>59494834
Sorry, not four moves, but seven! 6 of them dark moves, 1 is ghost. Christ...
>>
>>59494796
After 1 min of thinking, hoothoot helps against bugsy, gastly against whitney. Without looking anything up, it doesn't seem bad

Following up on a night start to SS:
You're guaranteed a Hoothoot and Ratata between routes 29 and 30, backtrack and you're guaranteed a Geodude on 46, then a Bellsprout on 31, and a Gastly in Sprout Tower. Also effectively guaranteed a Zubat if you hit Dark Cave - there's a 1% chance you hit Dunsparce but that's not realistic. The first route that isn't deterministic is Route 32 where you've got a toss up between Ekans, Wooper, and Mareep - but if you wait until morning you can use a repel at level 6 and guarantee Mareep. Going into Union Cave with Geodude, Ratata, and Zubat guarantees Onix though Onix is a rare spawn so you can probably get through the cave without having to use a repel or catch anything if you want to wait for a Lapras. Route 33 you can guarantee a hoppip during the day with a repel or an Ekans at night. Slowpoke Well guarantees a Slowpoke.

Is there even any randomness in this run?

Continuing My NU Randomizer + Random Ability Run, got Beat the champions cup, Rose, Eternatus, and Champion Leon with only one death due to my Showdown brain thinking Dragapult's only ability was infiltrator.

Cheek Pouch Regirock Heavy Slammed Bede's team to death by himself.

No Guard Wigglytuff thunder'd Nessa's team until Barraskewda crit it, switched to Grassy Surge Shiftry who grassy glided everyone, even OHKOing Gigantamax Drednaw without dynamaxing itsself.

Intrepid Sword Gallade ripped through Bea's team until Machamp, who Galarian Rapidash was able to switch in and get the counter Dynaxmax KO with crit Max Mindstorm

The battle with Raihan was a completely insane luck roll for me. I opened with Wailord to bait Solar Beam, switched to Sap Sipper Poliwrath, and for some reason, that frog wanted blood. He somehow outspeed everyone and he Crit Earthquake torkoal, Crit Ice Punch Goodra, Crit Earthquake Turtonator, Crit Ice Punch Flygon. Finally G-max Duraludon was wittled down by Dynamax Fur Coat Licklilcky spamming Max Knuckle.

Rose was pretty straightforward, Centiskorch deleted Escavlier, ferrothorn, Perrserk, and Klinklang. Then Fur Coat Lickilcky wore down Gigantamax Copperajah With Max knuckles.

Ice Scales Oranguru sat in the fight with Eternamax, Yawning and Psychic spamming while living the Max- Wyrmwinds.
>>
>>59495933

Finally, we get to Leon. I open with Water Spout Waillord with Choice Scarf and cut it down 80% while it was still in Shield mode. He tanks a shadow ball at 40%, and then finished off the biggest threat in Aegislash.
Then he sent out Dragapult, but I was foolish. I thought its ability was Infiltrator because that what it is 99% of the time on pokemon showdown. I switched to Boltund thinking I could eerie impulse it to let Oranguru come in and clean it, but I was dead wrong. It was clear body, hard countering my boltund strat that I thought was 100% fullproof in a nuzlocke. It crit Thunderbolt'd me on switch in and then crit shadow ball'd Boltund leaving it at 1HP. I didn't want to lose this important pokemon because I still have all the DLC I need to get through, so I made the decision to sack Waillord so I could get a clean switch in. I switched to Shiftry and OHKO it with sucker punch, then came haxorus. I switched to Cheek Poach Regirock who tanked a poison jab and Earthquake while setting up stealth rocks and then body pressing for the win. Seismitoad came out, and I brought Shiftry back out to delete it. Finally Cinderace. I switched to fur Coat lickilicky and deleted it with Max Rockfall. Finally Giantamax Charizard came out, 50HP from the Stealth rock, and it was dead from the Max Rockfall from Lickilicky.

I am now Galar Champ! But the run isn't over, now on to the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra!

also my last 2 gets in the main game from the slumbering Weald and Tower summit were
>Galvanize Rufflet
>Effect Spore Tauros.

Lets see what DLC has to offer! I have my trusty Honey Gather Boltund to take on any challenge that doesn't have clear body or White Smoke!
>>
>>59495512
there's also Geodude but Smokescreen/Sand-Attack spam works wonders, even if the user is weak to Roll-Out
>>
>>59495052
For rollout, it doesn't need to. Sitrus berry even against a crit would allow for a curse, and then protect to stop the rollout. The reall issue is that miltank has scrappy, so stomp actually does more damage. You'd have to use a calculator to check, but it needs to be bulky enough to survive a stomp and curse with a sitrus berry.

And if you're doing set mode, what's also an issue is getting gastly onto the field without damage if he isn't already out.
But I mean, it's sorta boring if you just use onix or geodude or machop or spamming defense curl all the time. Sometimes winning the nuzlocke risk and using alternate methods are fun.

>>59495586
You could avoid the bat to get wobuffet later, ignore onix to get Steelix later, get one of the 3 eggs in violet city (wooper, mareep, or slugma). Also, I don't think ekans is guarenteed at the part you mentioned? Mareep too, no?
>>
>>59496869
also, rock smash in the cave for dunsparce, maybe to stall against whitney with curse dmg and defense curl and yawn twice. Don't know how great dunsparce is though desu
>>
>>59495933
Damn, that's a lucky frog

Continuing on with my NU Randomizer Random Ability Run of Sword, we're doing the Isle of Armor now!

New land, new pokemon. I'm banning all my mainland galar pokemon and starting anew. New Team after doing the Slowpoke trial so far is:
>Galvanize Rufflet
>Water Bubble Bunnery
>Pixelate Druddigon
>Pastel Veil Crygonal
>Desolate Land Vileplume
>Fluffy Eiscue (Ice Face Form)

I'm feeling good about this. Got a solid special wall and physical wall, its just that they are both ice types unfortunately.
However conversely:
Lvl 60 0 Atk Urshifu Close Combat vs. Lvl 60 0 HP / 252 Def Fluffy Eiscue: 75-88 (42.1 - 49.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Water Bubble is great for an extra fire resistance and burn immunity for Lopunny, but I feel cheated with her not having a water type move to take advantage of the 2x water damage output.

Desolete Land Vileplume is solid for solar beam spam, but double edged as fire threats are doubled.

Galvanize Braviary is by far the most disappointing. Its strongest normal move is Crush Claw, it doesn't even learn double edge!

Hopefully this team will be able to endure the trial to come on the Isle of Armor!
>>
>>59497130
Well it gets Brave Bird TR. I think wanting both is a little greedy, lol. Hell, it gets Thrash (at 72)
I do see now that Hisuin gets both, but that's fine cause its atk isn't even close

That Vileplume sounds great, but yeah your team has fire issues. Does Lopunny need to learn Dig for them, kek

Today has been great. This is my team so far.

>Ho-oh
>Graveler
>Machoke
>Ampharos
>Crobat
>Red Gyarados

This morning, I beat all five Kimono Girls, they where hard but I beat them both. I caught the Legendary Ho-oh at the top of the Bell Tower and I also did Victorg Road and beat my rival for the last time in that game. Now I'm up to the elite four and champion and it's gonna take a while to grind everyone up to level 50.

Any advice for the elite four and champion?
>>
>>59497673
Your team's fine for pokemon league. Just give them the right moves and hold items. No idea of gyarados can sweep the dragons but at lev 50 I'd imagine he takes at least two of them. The elite 4 can be beaten intelligently at lev 40 with your team, it's just lance that forces you to push more. Idk, look up if you can get away with winning at 45,

Also, get the life orb with ho oh if you want to use it. You don't have to, though, esp if it's personally too risky.
>>
>>59497895
How do I get this life Orb?

Nah I'm grinding to level 50 then, might take a while.

There's probably 50 of these already but after this comment

I set to work building out a calculator to show how the dupe clause impacts encounters. It's not done yet but if anyone's interested I'll post a link when it's done.
