It's almost as if...never mind both animal rights activists AND the agricultural industry & conservatives would nail me to a cross and set me on fire

BASED. BASED. BASED. BASED. BASED. KILL THE TURTLE TRANNIES.
>>59497139This is propaganda to justify whaling.
>>59497164Hehe, rent free. Also I'm not a goy. ;)
>>59497139>Billions (of Lapras) must die.Actually, by my calculations only 23,467,343 Lapras must die.

>>59497139I do love how they're using this to justify Japan killing whales.
>>59497139>they've been so cherished that now there is an abundanceLeast subtle jap
>>59497148>/vp/ user can't stop seething about kantoMany such cases
>>59497139We saved the lapras too hard. Go back
This reflects real life as well. But in this case deer populations exploded because people were focused on killing off all the predatory animals as much as possible without thinking of the ecological consequences. It's almost as if bears and wolves exist(ed) for a reason... Enjoy the constant CWD outbreaks.
>>59497139>>59497517The obvious solution is for Lapras to use human men as a food source
>>59499688https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W88Sact1kwsEnjoy.
>>59499688And now deer prion diseases got so bad it has affected the soil and infects other deer through consuming grass that grew where infected deer died.Nature's a nasty bitch sometimes.
>>59497139>Wishiwashi's Schooling>But it's the last one left..HA HA!
We have to start eating Lapras again.
>>59499673>We saved the lapras too hard. That's the neat part about it. Back in gen 1/2 Lapras were endangered, and now their population has exploded.
>>59497139Aren't Lapras incredibly rare to find in the games?
>>594990894chan is the only site that matters
>>59497139What book is this?
>>59501699It’s been getting more common as the gens go on. The Dex entry mentioned in the OP picture is from SM where they’re common enough to be a Ride Pokemon
>>59502105The Pokecology book, it was very recently released in English, it was first released in japanese about a year agoOnly have a scan of the japan version https://litter.catbox.moe/yvdx7bpw0z1ari1a.pdf>>59501699they used to be in earlier games. In SM its explictly stated in the dex that Lapras populations have recovered.
>>59501699>Aren't Lapras incredibly rare to find in the games?Story/Gameplay Separation. The gameplay in earlier gens matched the lore, but now they don't because Lapras is really good in a playthrough and the devs don't want it common.
I thought Pokemon eating Pokemon was a no-no for 30+ years? It was a thing when Pokemon started but when they produced an official media depiction guide they erased all the 'nasty' and natural animalistic parts and instincts.I bet the Pokecology book doesn't show Pokemon humping one another and female Pokemon laying an egg.
>>59499688I think they based it on how Hawaii seemingly has a ton of green sea turtles now. Not enough to say the population has recovered, but they’re way more common than people visiting expect. That combined with the usual big animal will eat all our commercial animal fear mongering that tends to happen with whales, seals, sea lions, sharks, bears, wolves, etc.
>>59497139bump
>>59502200>It was a thing when Pokemon started but when they produced an official media depiction guide they erased all the 'nasty' and natural animalistic parts and instincts. That's just marketing guidelines, actual game lore never stopped referencing predation. It's even a game mechanic in some cases.
>>59501699It started to become common around Gen 4, you can surf for one in Victory Road
>>59502220For the most part it stays in dex entries. Honestly its weird how descriptive the entries can get while the NPCs are either blissfully unaware or feign ignorance. Like, they would rather avoid talking about what is to have some of these fucking things in your life and instead they default to "wow, my Litwick is so strong!" which makes most interactions have a weird kind of tonal whiplash.
>>59502200Replaying US in japanese you would be surprised the amount of times the word 獲物 appears in the Pokedex entries
