this is speculative but the interview in the recently leaked DP documentary hints that the rumors about him in the spectrum always were true to some extent. The way he talks and moves, the setting in a dark room. He's not some chris chan tier dysfunctional autist but there may be something.With some friends we were speculating and we believe he was comfortable while Pokémon was their small project with his buddies, but as it blew up and went global he grew increasingly anxious about it. So he's still involved to some extent but went recluse to be able to work in peace.
