We had mystery dungeon for the furries, coluseum for the sweats, gale of darkness for the edgelords who want a "mature" story, pokemon pinball i guess... I think it was around this time when something happened with the TCG, something about the guys in charge of operations in the west fucking up so TPC took direct control? Maybe I'm mixing things up with another TCG. The point is that it was around this time when they really wanted to expand the franchise, and the Hoenn starters were the face of all of it. I grew up with RBY but when I think about the part of my life when pokemon felt the most relevant and present it was definetly around the RSE years.
