why is the original series so soulful? like it feels so lived in and a real adventure. like there's so much to the world and then it just completely falls off. like around the johto season where you see the electabuzz girl is when it becomes so hard to watch and it never comes back
>>59500787as you said: there's no magic in johtosucked the soul right out of the ashnime
>>59500787The sense of adventure and discovery. Pure soul.
>>59500787Shudo's influence. Then it ended with Gen 3 and Masuda's iron grip on the franchise turning everything into a corporate happy utopia where nothing bad happens.
Season 1 was the pilot, they had to make things right or the anime will be pulled outOrange Islands was the first real Pokemon season The original director left after Johto and the dip began
>>59501297>Masuda's iron grip on the franchise turning everything into a corporate happy utopia where nothing bad happens.This. Pokemon wasn't originally envisioned or planned to be some kind of "forever franchise" like American comics. This meant that Shudo (both for better and for worse) was given a lot of creative freedom. An artist expresses their creativity and vision when making a work, and that means there will be rough edges like a dude pulling a gun on Ash. Once Shudo left the series got a mandate to be as inoffensive as possible. Sterility ensued and the series lost it's sovl.
>>59500787>>59501297>>59502366As a person literally chugging through johto journeys currently, I genuinely feel like each episode is more so a commercial for a toy pokemon rather than an interesting creature/monster. They seem to begin to be treated more like misunderstood animals and less like creatures that will fucking kill you on sight like primeape beedrill swarms and gyarados. Pudgey pidgey island is a fucking gem and a half tho.
>>59500787Go back to /padt/. Fuck off with the shitty anime spam.
