Does OLM has a thing against Crater? When other Studio like Toei and Colorido animated a battle, they actually add impact frame and environmental damage to showcase the power of the characters. Yet when OLM animates a fight, there are barely any environmental damage or impact frame. Especially during Master Tournament which supposed to be battle between champions yet it was so GROUNDED that it felt like battle between street level trainer. Its like none of the people involved with Pokémon on OLM has ever watched a battle anime in their entire life and their idea of introducing a strong character is just giving them a gigantic plot armor like Leon. It got even worst on Pokémon 2023 where even legendary Pokémon feels like a regular street Pokémon than legendary where a Fuecoco can knock down a Rayquaza with a Flame Charge. So far the closest Mega evolved pokemon came to show mega level power is when Mega Dragonite busted a hole on a mountain on a segment but even a base Tyranitar supposed to be a mountain buster.

If that rumor is actually true, then I'm pretty happy with it. I've thought of Pokemon swapping to Seasonal the second One Piece announced they were doing so (which has had WAY higher ratings than Pokemon for the better part of a decade now, meaning they had more to lose talking purely in terms of year-on-year viewership and they still made the swap). I've quite liked Horizons but this is the second series in a row where there was a tangible drop in average animation quality over halfway through. You can tell the animators are being stretched thin as they get shuffled back and forth to work on other things in the pipeline and more and more gets outsourced. The viewership hasn't really justified sticking to this model either.All in all, once again IF this turns out to be true, I think it's best case scenario. Series like JJK have shown that longer gaps between seasons can have no effect on the buzz a series generates if they're good enough, so here's hoping Pokemon takes a few notes.
