In no way is this schizo, and the bottom half is what I argue every time I see N paired with Reshiram. His Ideal world of liberation that he barely understands in the first game is shattered by the Truth of the strength of the player's bond with his team, and by the Truth of his being used by Ghetsis. For further narrative links, you could even say that Ghetsis weaponises N's Ideals using Kyurem in the second game, who has, instead of seeking synthesis between Truth and Ideals, gone all in on extremity and imbalance.

Do the dragons actually embody truth and ideals, or are they just really powerful beings and those are ascribed to them by humans? Do they have the ability to command the populace to their will (what N was allying with them and seeking the championship for) or is it just because they can rain down fire and lightning to those who disobey? In my headcannon, I like to imagine the original dragon as a dogmatic figure, effectively the godly being of moral authority (Arceus only really cares about spacetime functioning most of the time), but maybe after continued interaction with humans, they realized all the nuances of what is and what ought to be. The split was the end of moral objectivism and birth of subjectivism. Maybe it ruled as the sole moral authority since the beggining (or close to the start), but humans with their civilization are what shattered it. I wonder if this also sparked the civility in pokemon, where they're only really wild animals before humanity, but post humanity (in Mystery Dungeon and Pokopia) humans have left their mark on them and they still yearn for civilization. Or maybe if humans have really left for good and poke-civilization eventually declines, Kyurem will start to get the gang back together.

Characterization is not equivalent to world-building. Those gens utilizing alternate worlds to hand-wave any discrepancy automatically makes them bottom-tier in terms of world-building.

I mean the original pmyth documents from the teraleak conveyed that the original plan was that 1000 years after humanity and pokemon sprung from the chopped down tree of life (whos branches were xernas and whos roots were yveltal) that Ia and Ea had to take on pokemon forms as dialga and palkia to punish humanity and pokemon alike for causing wars. We're talking super ancient times.

whats funny is this is technically still canon as Old Verse 18 confirms the Teraleaks pmyth5.2 AUSU line for line.

>>

>alternate worlds to hand-wave any discrepancy
This is a thing in literally every single gen since the very beginning thanks to alternate versions. Red and Blue are canonically alternate worlds of each other, that's the explanation for version exclusive Pokémon. You just hate it cause it got popular in the last decade or so. But it's been core of the series since it launched.
And no, character writing does very much contribute to world building. The world shapes the characters and vice versa. The stories of the character indirectly tell us about the world they live in.
Beyond that, Gen 9 has a lot of world building for Paldea specifically by fleshing out its history and myths. That's worldbuilding too.

Its actually an absolute hierarchical meritocracy.

Literally the champs are the acting feudal lords of every region, but if you are stronger than them then you get the authority. (But can choose to abdicate the role like Red and Blue both do). It just so happens that every champion in every region has been absolute egalitarians, wars and power conflicts were ended world-wide by AZ nuking France, and the world is overabundant with resources and technology to the point there is no such thing as scarcity.

The one time someone without egalitarian ideals became champion (N) it almost ended the pokemon world and had to be put down by someone stronger than him to set things back to the egalitarian status quo.

Literally the one time resource limitations is brought up, its 1000 years into the future and is fixed within an afternoon in Galar.

I have always strongly believed this about Ghetsis and N. 100%.
N is a very textbook bleeding heart and a tragic character but ultimately dangerously delusional/misguided. He reminds me of some marxist/leftist/trans friends I've had. All the moral grandstanding and "empathy" in the world can't make up for being objectively wrong about something. For N, that is not understanding that pokemon and humans get along well and mostly enjoy the status quo as it stands in their world. Also that Team Plasma are grifters.

Ghetsis VERY MUCH reminds me of a cynical powerhungry neolib. His plot to have a monopoly on pokemon (force) feels so so much like an allegory for gun control in the USA.

the other stuff in OP is meh it works but I don't think it was intentional by the developers or anything. They were really saying something with Ghetsis and N though.

>N gets Zekrom because he uhhhh because he wants something untrue while the protagonist is the status quo
Statements made by the utterly deranged. N's entire quest in BW was one of truth. He barely had any real ideals at all when he was thinking for himself.

N’s backstory showed that pokemon are indeed abused by humans. It’s just the *one* truth Ghetsis showed him. The moment he hears the voice of the protag’s starter, he tries to get the protagonist to challenge him so that he can learn the whole truth. N’s entire motive in BW is to learn the actual truth of the world, which he spells out at the end as to why he was fond of (You) and why he spurred (You) into challenging him; it makes perfect sense that Reshiram would pick him. He was questioning Ghetsis’s propaganda- and everything he had ever known- from the very start.

Literally a product of the War area before AZ nuked France.
>there being military means there is war
Never happened, it is literally canon that all war in the pokemon world stopped after AZ fired the ultimate weapon. It is double stopped because the Old Verse in Legends Arceus literally says that humanity would be punished by Palkia and Dialga if they ever had war again and humans adhere to that.

They can have all the military outfits and technology, but there have not been any wars since AZ fired the weapon, which the whole lore reason why the pokemon world is so peaceful. Like the Japanese, everyone is afraid of being nuked.

Humans would still be fighting wars for territory it once owned because of "historical injustices" or "national pride" or whatever. The idea conflict is caused by mere scarcity assumes humans are rational. That assumption is false.

Even without scarcity people would still want more than the other person, more territory, etc. It's human nature that's the source of our problems. Scarcity just gives us rationalization for our greed and barbarism.
